Please tell me you're going aftermarket, and IMHO, if you plan on wheeling it, just go w/ spray paint and good etching primer prep.

If just redoing your factory one IIRC $150-200 should be a single stage color.

it is my factory bumper, but i just bought a brand new bumper and I want it black. dont feel like screwing it up by spray painting it.

Then yeah, go with my estimate if it's a bare or painted version, but realize if otherwise to strip the chrome's expensive and powder IMHO never takes well to scuffed chrome and usually flakes or cracks w/i 6 months, and upps the price dramaticaly.

There's Form and Fusion over on Trade Center and IIRC PPC over on 23rd. (Sac)

well that kinda blows. i was thinking maybe around 100 dollars at the most. then i wouldn't have a problem. but i guess i'll paint and scuff it up myself.

decided to paint it myself. :) I just finished scuffing the rear bumper. Im gonna go buy some rustoleum and a snap and spray gun. and then see how it turns out. if it sucks. i'll go get it powder coated

Glad you decided to paint it yourself! The stock bumpers are rock magnets. :D Go with a hammered finish for the spray painting as it blends really well, even if you're a crappy painter like me. :)

...Or just spray it with bed liner. :) Roll some herculiner on that stock bumper and call it a day, you can get it at any auto parts store, its black, and it will help with the whole "rock magnet" thing that rear bumpers, stock ones in particular seem to have going for them. :)

I actually finished painting the whole bumper last night... came out better than i thought... the only problem is, one of my brackets is bent and the bumper still sags more to the left by about an inch and a 1/2. so pretty much the bumper is on there, but isn't sitting straight. anybody got any ideas on fixing this? vice + bracket = bend back? :D

that would be my suggestion.. im not even bothering with my stock bumpers... they are bent and hang funny, but im planning out some custom bumpers for it ^_^

Yeah, just try to bend the bracket. I drove with mine crooked till a nice rock ledge was nice enough to smash it back up straight. :hillbill:
