Just as the title states, I've been thinking about things and I think a 4runner would have been a bit better bang for the buck, But I couldnt find a 5speed with low miles so troy.. :flipoff:
Anyway, few of you know my taco is down at the moment due to a cracked exhaust manifold, joy.
So whenever its out of commision im rockin my dads 99 2wd runner.
So my friend says shes goin to Ocotillo on Sat. night, Naturally I wasnt going to pass up an offer to get out into the wild :D
Anyway, Here's reason 1 I should have bought a 4runner instead of a Tacoma

1. Go and kick Scooter25 for bringing the mojo of your rig being down for now.
2. Exactly why I ended up with the rig I have. Looks like you're loving the option of the 3.4 and the ability to camp and travel a bit in the 4Runners.
FWIW yaeh, a 5 speed is sweet. That said the adapter to convert to Auto/4wd isn't that big of a deal, or like I was thinking, you can do a lot w/ just a locker, just not the bigger stuff. You'd be surprised at who has wheeled Rubicon and Dusy w/ an Auto.
Checking CL there's easily 5 near you for around $7k and 4wd.

I see 2 bags, and 2 pillows in the 4runner..... so the question I have is .... where is this "friend" of yours? I say pics or it didnt happen.

*If I know his PB page can I post the pics of his header crack?
Scuba, FWIW go with an aftermarket header, the factory cast will always keep cracking.

1. wait what..? are you talking about jinxing me..? meh, It'll be back on like tuesday when I get my new manifold...
2. Nay, The 4runner is 2.7 5speed base, But it has the power when she needs it.
And yeah, I always knew i could sleep back there, just never got the chance..

Exactly what I was hinting for you to get. :D
Side note, did you drag your exhaust at all, something else to consider to keep things clear from harm..

could always go with headers but would be expensive and gain would be negligable
a thought.
im about to order about 4 pelican cases for various things, photo equipment and lighting and i can stack in the back. i need to get rid of my sub though

... a jeep girl....
did you catch anything? better have your toyota checked, that right there could be the cause of all your issues. :)

while you at it, change the exhaust gasket with a new OME one, it costs about $13, but if you do it, do it right. the aftermarket ones are not even close. save you power and mpg.

That is why Troy and I are always telling Scuba he needs to bring his friends along when we go wheeling.

Every time you introduced her last year at Pismo, I kept mentally doing the Dr. Evil quotation mark gesture every time you said "my friend"... And then chuckling would ensue.
:D
And I bought my Tacoma over a year ago, and after a few months had wished I'd bought a 4Runner.
Oh, well.
