Hey Folks,

Just joined the site and sayin' hello !
I'm from Ireland and I have a 1997 Hilux Surf SSR-X Limited 3.0 turbo diesel.

There seems to be lots of interesting threads here that will keep me busy for a while.

Cheers !

cmar,

welcome aboard. nice to have a out of town guest :) yes, we americans are too envious of the turbo diesel. fortunately for me, i own a mercedes turbo diesel, so at least i can be satisfied that way.

post up some pics of your truck!

ive talked to enough people from around the world to know that they seriously consider the US to be a pretty homogeneous mass of people, with the exception of the south. so yes, i called us yanks. its like how we view england or even europe.

Hey Folks,

I'll get pics up at the weekend. The truck is pretty dirty at the moment so I'll give it a wash and then get snapping.

Cheers!

shh... we dont want to scare him off :-P ... but if your truck has been out mud wrestling it would be just as well accepted to see the dirty pics as well as the clean ones ;)

Unfortunately its just dirty from not having the time to wash it. The weather over here is so changeable that I could spend a few hours cleaning it up only to have a downpour of rain the next day (or hour!!!)

Thats the trouble with black paint. Looks great when clean but shows every speck of dirt

well then go out and play in some mud and we will never know the difference ;)

Sweet . . . you even have that little thing that pops out above the rear hatch (mirror?)

Those pictures are not recent. I have clear bumper and side indicator lights fitted now.
Hopefully I will have a full set of 5 LC80 rims in the next week or two. :D

Yeah that is a mirror on the rear spoiler. Bit of a novelty really. Its supposed to give you a view of the rear bumers when reversing. But the tinted rear glass and tire carrier blocks a lot of the view

I've always thought the window visors for surfs were TOO big...but then again, I'm sure surf owners think our american window visors are too small. :)

Nice surf nonetheless.
