Sorry I've been away for a while now, but I've been dealing with family issues that my sister dumped on me in december, has really stressed me out. I don't want to go into details, but I'm not going to lose my house. I finally paid off my attorney last friday, $8,500 + other court cost for nearly $10,000 in expenses related to probate court. It almost cost me an additional $20,000......

Then I get a call sunday morning about my nephew being in an incident with the police. Here's a link to all the stories; http://www.newstin.com/rel/us/en-010-013998478

I also want to apologise to everyone for not responding to messages sent and I'm trying to get myself straighten back out after the months of stress placed on me.

Welcome back man, I was wondering what happened to you.

No stress . . . . one day at a time and everything will work itself out

bruce,

damn man, i just saw the video footage of that f'g bastard cop football slamming your nephew. i mean straight up, no reason to do that at all. i hope that cop gets a nice civil suit on him and pay for it

almost always, i am pro law enforcement b/c i have a few friends who are LE. but this and the most recent incident in el monte shows that we have cops who totally cross the line. the el monte cop kicked a known gang banger right in the head. the police unit called it a "distraction blow". F#k that. the banger had himself on the groudn, spread eagle. that banger deserves all the worst things coming to him, but when you submit, you aretn supposed to get kicked in the head.

while nothing in comparison, the f'g dic#head cop that gave me my last ticket was a prick power tripping a-hole. to me, there's no point in trying to be nice to cops b/c my past 2 experiences, they power trip to try to put you in "compliance". if they are just civil and treat me like a professional, ill do the same.

I just saw the video myself....to think their department called that justifiable is beyond me. That wasn't even a tackle or typical takedown, but a full blow hit meant to hurt him for running.

the latest news is the damage to his brain is so severe that his brain stem is beyond repair and will never come out of the coma. There's discussions now to pull the plug on life support....

gawd, that is terrible bruce. while a lawsuit and money won't bring him back, i hope that that b#tch cop pays out of his own pocket via a civil suit. he should not be a cop or any authority figure. not even a mall cop

my condolances bruce. i wish him, the family and you the best, whatever that may be. such a young guy too.

i had a hard time watching the video a second time. it is unquestionably excessive force. i dont think ive ever seen anyone get hit that hard before, including professional sports. in fact, that looked like he got hit by a vehicle. in the video it was hard to tell the officers apart from other people on the street.

im wondering how the officer feels about this, if he has any remorse for hurting him. i didnt really see him resisting arrest, although he was running. its a tough thing. i do have a tendency to distrust law enforcement on this one though. something seems fishy.

Bruce,
Sorry to hear about your nephew and your families situation.
You have my deepest condolences.

I watched the video and that was tough to see.
I agree with bob, while money wont bring him back, true justice needs to be enforced here.

bruce good to have you back!!! dude that video was hard to watch i think that was very excessive i know the cops get the adrenaline pumping and kind of think they gotta take whoever they are chasing down.. i dont think he intended to hurt him just knock him down to detain him but it still sucks. i hope he is ok
