After months of researching and car-searching, we finally found a silver 2006 Jetta TDI w/ Package 1 for my wife. It's a great little car, we drove it about 100 miles home, and it >barely< used 1/10th a tank of diesel from the looks of it! Good power up hills too, it didn't downshift for any of them!

I'm stoked about this thing, it will be a good car for her, and a great car for trips back to Tucson (it's likely it will only use one tank for the 600 mile drive).

Some dealer pics of the car:

It's better with the auto, 6-Speed DSG FTW!!! We paid a little over $15K for it, which was good deal for us. We were also able to get close to blue book for our trade-in, which was a big selling point for us too.

Package 1 with premium audio and leather heated seats, it's hard to beat the bang for the buck.

50,000 mile, just broken in :)

Nice find. My wife and I are looking for a "newish" TDI.

Nice! I like the idea of having a TDI for a DD.

It's a shame Toyota doesn't bring the diesel cars back to the U.S. I'd take a diesel over a hybrid any day.

i wouldnt call it 100x better than a stick... id take a 5sp manual any day over an auto-stick (of any kind, even BMW's SMG)...

but very nice find... definitely a clean mkV

Really good price Brian. My wife and I were looking at the same last year and couldn't get under $19k.

My wife left for work just now, and the ODO was at about 190 miles, and a tick over 3/4 of a tank

Ouch! My wife's 08 Corolla S would be on fumes by then.
