22r/re and 20 r diffeneces

I have a 1987 pickup 4x4 and I also have a 20r complete and. Most of a 22r/re... I only say both because it has a 22re valve cover but that means nothing I'm told... I want to rebuild both but I want to have the 22 be fuel injected I want to know how I can tell if it is a 22re and what I need to do to make it fuel injected if its not
