Well, a new noise has decided to appear and I'm unsure of what it is.

The other day on my way to church (yes, I do go) I took an unimproved road for about 1/2 mile (no thanks to mapquest). When I hit pavement again I started to get a scraping/grinding noise when ever I turned the wheel to the right. I get back out of church and the noise had faded away to bearly aubile until I hit the dirt road again and it once again is a little more proment. By the time I get home the noise is gone.

Today, after doing some tooling around on a newly found dirt road the noise was again aubile once I hit pavement this time and turn right the noise became more pronounced and lasted for a longer period of time before fading away.

I'm just wondering what would cause this noise. Could it be a wheel bearing? Nothing is leaking or appears to be broken underneath.

did you get a rock stuck?

i have gotten rocks stuck in the shield around the brake rotor that made grinding noises.

Go hit that road again and this time STOP and look at your right wheel when you hear it :tongueout:

probably a rock stuck like reggie said.

next time you hear the noise, stop and go in reverse and pull back at a sort of brisk pace. see if you hear it pop out. regardless, shift back into drive/first and see if the noise is still there. if it is, try reversing a bit more briskly.

i used to do this as a natural habit/act when i wheeled my 01 4r... i had the worst luck with rocks/pebbles in water

Nope, no stuck rocks. Pull the wheel off gave everything a good look over but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

It was doing it again for a bit again yesterday while out exploring when turning to the right, then the bloody thing decideds to magically stop.

does it sound like power steering grind? check the color of the power steering fluid? If it looks like choclate milk its probably the power steering pump....
