Looking to pick up a set of frot mud flaps. Preferable new for my 02 4runnner. Going to take off the running boards but wanna add some mud flaps to the front w/ the excisting larger fender flares. I have seen "paddlenbike" used a set of pick up mud flaps on his from a 1989-1995 truck.. Any one know where i might be able to order something?
thanks

Check ebay.
I will stop by the dealer tomorrow and see how much I could probably pick them up for and see if that price might be reasonable.
Also junk yards.
also post over in the wanted section of the market place on TTORA main board, usually there are guys over there that could care less about mud flaps lol.
Hope that helps a little.

It looks like you have the Limited fender flares. Do your running boards transistion to the flares? I have the meduim black flares and my flares transisitioned to the running boards. As a result I had to order the 4runner "mud guards" otherwise mine would have looked all funny. Paddlenbike's flares go lower than mine did so he bolted on some thick rubber in the flap area. I wish I could have done this as the flap is flexible where as my hard plastic is not.
I would suggest looking on line for 4runners (96-02) that have the same fender flares are you but no running boards. There are a different combos and guys have done different things.

There are five different flare options on 4Runners. 1) no flare, 2) chrome flares on SR5s, 3) black plastic flares that were bundled with various option packages, 4) large painted plastic flare--available for the first time in 2000 as part of an option package then standard equipment on 01-02 Sport Editions. It looked like the Limited flares but was shaped different where the flare met the running board, and 5) the Limited flares.
Toyota only makes mud flaps for options 1, 2 and 3 above. Option 4 almost always came equipped with the optional running boards which served as the mud flap and option 5 always had the running boards. Since you have option 4 (like me) you will have to make your own. The 1989-1995 pickup flaps I used are not bolt-on, I cut them and drilled holes and used the factory flare mounting bolts to hold it on. There was one mounting hole under the truck that was unused so I stuck a bolt through it and used two old sway bar bushings to hold the inner-most part of the flap in place. They're still there four years later.
In case you decide to duplicate this effort, here are all of the pics I could find. Some were pre-running board, some after and the rest with rock sliders in place.

I used front mudflaps from an 01-04 Tacoma. The bolt in the flare matches up, you need to drill a hole in the flap to match the bottom bolt on the flare, and the final inside hole requires you to drill a hole in your wheel well, which I put in a factory plastic plug, and siliconed it up. 3 secure mounting points just like a taco.

Not sure on your links as I don't have those fender flares. I'd go Paddlenbike's way. Cheap, easy and you cut to fit. I got the hard plastic Toyota mud guards for my medium flares and they get beat up in the rocks. The protect very nicely but don't really flex so the mounting points get worked if you wheel in the rocks or stumps.
