As some of you know the last 4 years I have been daily driving a 1993 VW Fox....well that was getting a little old, and I decided to step up a bit...

Picked this up at my work before it went to wholesale auction....it has a lot of miles, but it is clean, and I have service records from Lexus.

2001 Lexus IS300 (sorry about the yellow POS in the background)

Nice! I really like those cars. They are super reliable too. I wouldn't mind picking one up myself for a DD.

Is that an auto or 5spd?

It is a 5 speed automatic, but has manual option with paddles on steering wheel.

It should be a fun car....I havent driven it much yet as the tires are showing steel belts. I will be getting new tires and the service up to date tomorrow at work.

I drove my brother's 5spd IS300. The I6 isn't loud, but it has a nice subtle tune to it. I really like them, and I think you'll enjoy it.

Other than normal maintenance, my brother has never had to fix anything on that car. Its been very reliable for him, and I think he is getting up towards 150k or more on it.

Ah the 2JZ-GE! very nice! Very reliable whether maintained or not...just keeps running! Very like it's predecessor, the 7M-GE (I've got one with 179k on it), but better!

I've been on the lookout for an high-mileage IS300 for some time now. Just how many does yours have on it/how much did you pay for it, if you can please divulge? Very curious!

Really like that car Marc. Nice grab.

Lots of those here in Japan although they were before Toyota marketed Lexus here. They all have Toyota badging on them. Just recently started selling Lexus here.

Cool DD.

Got the car home today with new tires and all services up to date....it has 145k on it, but runs and feels tight as any new car. I just need to get it detailed now.

Here are a couple better pics.....

those cars are beautiful! and can you register it in arizona and turbo it? does it share the same forged interans as the supra I6?

its a different 2jz... the is300 has the same as the non turbo supra... which does not have forged internals, or a transmission that can take the power... it would not be that difficult to swap in a twin turbo 2jz however ;)

Nice car. I recently had a chance to buy a very clean IS300. The only problem it was a manual and that doesn't fly with Mrs. Jonno.
