Mirror Compass and Temperature not working

My sister has a 2000 4Runner. Have not seen the issue myself but she said that the compass is just displaying a "C" and the thermometer is displaying something like "-30 *F". she's tried turning the display off and back on and it does not help.

Any ideas on what could be wrong? She hasn't messed with anything AFAIK... anyone had this happen before??

most likely the wire got cut to the temp sensor. thats just my 2 cents

Hm, i didn't know they offered compasses...?

Has she looked in her manual at all? There may be something in there about calibrating it. Something may have tripped it so it needs to be recalibrated?

i think the compass would still work even if wire got cut... i have one that just has a power wire and the compass works.

not sure if its covered in the manual, was reading that they are sometimes dealer installed items, but i'll tell her to look.
