So last week I pulled a code P0120.
I have a new TPS, But I cant find anything that says if its adjustable or not..
Looking through my paper back and the online one again..
I dont even have an EG in my paperback, and the index in it doesnt even mention the throttle position sensor.
On this (http://"http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/2003/Repair_Manual/03tacoma/di/eg2rzfe3/cip0120.pdf") page it says check throttle position sensor.
Then it says replace throttle position sensor, and links to here (http://"http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/2003/Repair_Manual/03tacoma/sf2rzfe3/thrbod/comp.pdf") EDIT: and that <--- page has nothing about the TPS really
So IDK what the hell im researching wrong or what.
I've searched YT a billion times and it says on the 3.4 to just stick it on and the ECM re calibrates itself...

You should be able to just replace it and go.
If you don't get a definite answer tonight then tomorrow I will stop by the Toyota lab and figure it out for you.

Toyota lab?
I go to Universal Technical Institute.
They have some factory specific Programs, Toyota being one of them.
And since I am enrolled in that program (but will not actually be taking classes till I am done all my regular auto and diesel courses) I have access to there computers and such.
Plus the instructors like my 4Runner :D
Lots of free labor, just have to by parts (for when I there is work that I can't do at home like mount and balance tires or do an alignment or engine swap lol)
So the Toyota Lab would = the Toyota shop section at school, 5 lifts, 4 post lifts and 1 ram style and then tons of tools and Toyota based laptops to play with :-D
36K for my program, I better get something out of it besides some knowledge....
And I just realized I went off on a random rant so sorry, back to topic!

Ahhhh, I see. Well yeah no one on yt or ttora is offering much insite, I'm kinda baffled at the ttora part, but the yt part isn't suprising. So yeah if I don't get an answer and you head over to that place, I would realllly appreciate it !!

I used google and it gave me this:
Clicky McPicky (http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml)
Says most of the TPS' are the same as far as adjustment. My Chevy was almost exactly like this.

I could''t get into the Toyota lab yesterday, due to some event going on.
However I did use some of the other schos resources and from what I read, you should be able to just plug it in and the computer should be able to recalibrate it.
If that doesn't work then I would try the method that mike found for you
Sorry I couldn't help more, was surprised to see anything going on at all lol.

I'm not sure if they self calibrate but they might come calibrated out of the box. You need to test the resistance through the switch and adjust accordingly. That's what those instructions were showing you how to do.

For the record and for future searches, No it isnt adjustable on my 99.
On the 95.5-97 3rz's though, They are adjustable, refer to the fsm on NCTTORA for the specs for that..
But my guess is in 98+ 3rz's they changed them and made them non adjustable.
Taco is back to having no MIL/CEL.
