Has been taken off road 3 times since the SAS has been completed about 1.5 years ago and has never been rolled. I have just recently begun making it my daily driver again because of how well the a/c works. It has passed inspection without flaw every year and has a newer catalytic converter and o2 sensors. Also has a brand new clutch slave cylinder. The truck has seen nothing but full synthetic fluids including brakes and power steering since I have owned it at 62k miles. Nothing to hide, come take a look and test drive. Asking $8,000 or best offer. Cash deals only, no trades. Title in hand. Email me with any questions at brian.flooks@gmail.com

I have been somewhat debt free this long, trying to see how much longer I can last...

Loans mean you gotta pay crap back, better to buy outright or close to it imho with a small loan then anything.

I been fixing my truck on and off for 2 years now, spent about 3k total on various things and I coulda sold it-put the downpayment on a tundra and carried a note for the next 4 years.. Really, see my logic as to why I spent so much on my truck-its paid for too.

I agree with you guys. I've been debt free my entire life, and I'm trying to stay that way. I'm currently saving for my next vehicle. Hopefully my 4Runner will last another year or so, otherwise, I'll have to take out a small loan.

That is a really nice 3rd gen though....I'd be tempted to take out a loan if I saw something like that near here. :D

How much wider is a FJ 62 axle over a mini axle? 6" wider?

Looks good!

Honestly not having a loan is the best thing in the world. Imagine taking a loan on that truck, owning like 5k and wrecking it on the trail a year later and still 3k or in the hole?

Thats why people buy cheap and fix up usually. I been looking for eons for a good older toyota and still havent found one I would be willing to buy for 2500 or so. Everyone thinks a vehicle made in 1991 or so is made of gold and wants 3500 or more and its FALLING apart usually or has so many miles its just plain stupid. Thats my reasoning why I save too.

Loans suck. Loans, typically, come with interest. No/very minute interest (below 4%) are the best ones, IF you can pay if off in the provided time period and only if you're SURE you can.

That said...I have 30k + and gaining in student loans. Loans suck.

idk how much wider the 60 axle is than mini, i think 6" but idk

i only took out a loan to get the truck asap, dont forget i still have the 2000 4runner which is paid for :D

im thinkn sell my 2000, buy some 37's and tube for an exo, and put the rest on the loan

wrecking it on the trail? all i need to do is keep it off its roof until i exo it this fall, after that nothing matters

So you spend copious amounts of cash just so you can have it, only to plan to chop it all up and such?

You have a very interesting take on stuff you pay a heck of alot of money for.

Now now Marc, To each there own.
I am sure he rationally thought this out,
Like I have for my future vehicle after the GTI hits the road with another family member...

Are you going to do full exo or you gonna bring it in a bit.
For a DD, man that would be a lot to look at lol!

The 37s def hit a note with me :-)
the exo though I don't know, I like the tundra on Ultimate adventures that had a nice Internal Roll cage that went out into the bed

I don't find it odd that someone with a mostly stock truck can't understand adding further mods.

The "copious amounts of cash" that he spent on this rig is probably half or less what it cost to actually build it. I don't see an exo and some better tires as anything horrible to do to it, in fact, the exo is smart and the tires are just personal preference. Personally I endorse more cutting, those 3rd gens are heavy, chop the back. :tapedshut:
