Along with a bunch of preventive maintenance I've decided to recoat the frame and refinish the wheel wells. I've also scored a sport hood, led bumper lights, and a Gobi ladder (en route). In light of all the upgrades I decided to give her a face lift. Changed the former graphite to khaki and blacked out the cruiser wheels. I think there was more but oh well here are some pictures of the progress. Ladder comes in next week or so.

any details on painting your snorkel? ive been wanting to but afraid it would just flake off and look bad. what did you use on it? ive been looking at using a plastic primer, like i have before on polyethylene.

I used the Krylon camo all around believe it or not. I scuffed the snorkel and head with a high grit sand sponge and gave it about 3 coats. did scratch and abrasions test the next day and its not going anywhere. I don't doubt down the road I may get black scratching through, but a fix is only a rattle can away
FYI: palm sander with 100 grit should work well to rough up the plastic.

happy to hear that! i might have to try it soon!
i relaly try and avoid hitting plastic with sand paper. usually just leaves scratches. when painting with kyrlon camo, it has the fusion stuff already in it, which chemically bonds to the plastic, instead of just a mechanical adhesion like you would get with sanding and applying normal paint.

How about Kylon Plastic Fusion? I've always thought it was "self-etching" with a bit of "Flex" in it to prevent flaking

Thats exactly what I used on my homebrew job except I used plastic textured flat black. I sanded down the abs piping-wanted to remove the damned imprinted labels, primed with plastic fusion and painted like 5 coats and i tell you what-aint no way its coming off.
