Remember and if it do ya, pray for the souls that were lost.

I lived only 5 miles from Manhattan and I could see/smell absolutely everything...including the sprinkling of concrete/human ash mixture that later came to rest upon everything black. The smell was penetrating.

I remember sitting crammed into a corner opposite the living room window and praying...I was only 13 at the time and didn't know what else was coming later on in the day. You didn't know if the towers coming down was the start of something bigger or not. The TV didn't help either. That might sound pathetic but I was young and I think people quite older then I was were terrified too. I remember wondering briefly if I'd see my mother again or not. One girl from my class lost her mom that morning.

A black day if there ever was one in my lifetime.

I remember waking up for school at 11 years old to see and here my mom and sister talking about what was going on. Camp pendleton was locked down, took an hour to wait in the lines at the gate. I dont recall what happened at school, I think we just went on with our normal ways. But the thing I most remember was talking to my mom late that night and just asking why, I couldnt comprehend what was going on, I was crying sad from all the video's and images I had seen on TV. I sat on my moms lap and just held her, Balling.
Tearing up recalling this.
Although from what I know no one in my immediate or EXT. family was injured or killed, But this day will be forever burned in my mind. I dont think any feeling or emotion will ever be greater than the uncertainty and the disbelief I felt that day.

RIP to all the innocent Men, Women and children that lost their lives that day.
God bless their families.

I called all of my employees and told them to stay home with their families. I still paid them for the day so there would be no hardship while they gave their children support and comfort.

I'll never forget, though clearly some have or would like to.

I was in HS and we got to watch it on TV from one of the other teachers classrooms that had cable.

Where I am in NJ we could see the ash and the fires pretty good, I will never forget.

NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!

Still haven't. Two friends lost from this Earth. Only online now b/c watching History Channel's making me very angry and saddened all over again. Again, b/c some of us do understand why some shed a tear when we hear the pledge.

To those still fighting, thank you. Words aren't enough.
