Electrical Issue

I know its a general topic but I didn't know how to make it more specific.
Here is what happen tonight.

I was leaving work and hopped in the truck.
I forgot something so I unlocked the doors and went to grab it.
When I came back to lock the doors they made a weird sound.
I was like "hmph whatever" thinking one of the mechanisms need to be oiled.
I decided to take the long way home which brings my commute from 10 to 15 mins (yeah big whoop I know).
I arrive home and back into the drive way like I always do (no issues this time with a Lexus :tongueout:) and proceed to park.
I let the truck idle while I unplug my phone, put the e-brake on and turn off the lights.
After I get my phone in my pocket, I grab the key and turn the engine off.
Next thing you know its dead in the truck, no dome light, no door adjar light on the gauge cluster, and the doors didn't unlock, even my two accessories and cb that are wired to a separate fuse box that is wired straight to the battery did not work....
I am like "WTF?"
So I hit the door unlock button and nothing happens.
I am like "Are you serious?"
So I manually unlock the door and open it, still no dome light, however I noticed that the door adjar light on the dash slowly dimming to life.
I am like "hmm...."
Then the dome light started to come back up slowly too.
So I put the key in the ignition, noticed no chime, turn it, and all the lights on the dash barely come on.
So I turn it back off and let it sit and let the lights get brighter.
While I let it sit for a min I quickly popped the hood to check the connection on the battery.
All good. nothing is loose.
So I get back in the truck and the door adjar and dome light are fully lit now.
put the key in and I am getting a chime, turn it, I get the seat belt ding, then turn the truck over and it starts right up like day one, just one click of the starter and she was running.
I am like "Holy (*&^ WTF is going on!?!?!"
Checked everything, everything is working, radio was reset but I really don't have any preset channels so.
So I try it again, turn it off and back on and still good no issues.

So I take it for a quick romp down the back roads to shake it up a bit.
Do the exact same thing again and its fine, no issues.

Right now I have the battery disconnected cause I am scared shitless that a fire might start or something, and I am starting to think that my truck is possessed

Bad ground to the battery maybe? Just a guess. :headscratch:

Checked that, wiggled it around, didn't affect a thing, even the positive too....

Maybe the battery then.

Based on my limited understanding of electrical stuff, I would say you either have a bad battery (or battery posts), or a bad ground from the battery.

The fact that neither your accessories nor any of the factory stuff worked seems to eliminate the possibility that the problem is with the positive side of things (except for a bad positive battery post).

so the lights were dim/barely working, you touched the battery and they came back on full strength? What changed from the time you had a problem to the time you didn't, what exactly did you do/touch/move. My guess would be the door lock noise was unrelated, and that you might want to clean the battery terminals and do a voltage drop from the battery post itself with the engine running under full electrical load (neg term -> engine ground / body ground --- pos term -> alternator).

The way it went down is the light, everything died and slowly started to come back to life.
What I did was then check them, and it still didn't effect the slow revival of the lights.
I am going to ask the Toyota guys to perform those tests Keith if thy have time (heck thy might not have time to even put my tires on)
