(cross post from ttora)
Just picked up an 05 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 w/65k miles and I've noticed a little problem.
When shifting up I push in the clutch, shift gears, and simultaneously remove my hand and released the clutch. About 75% of the time, the stick will pop out of gear before I've release the clutch. I've noticed that I have to be very deliberate and hold the stick in place in order for the gear to "catch".
Now I'm familiar with there being a problem with the shifter seats on the older Tacoma's. Is this the same problem or something more serious?
Ideas? I haven't been able to dig up a definitive answer.
