So you all know what's up, I am copying what he sent your moderator guys.

"Basically we were riding out towards the coast when a jerk decided to swerve and throw something at our lead rider. Both me and two others were right behind, drafting and when he went down and b/c of the truck, and the bottle the a-hole threw, we all went down hard. Asphalt, broken glass, easily 30mph, you know, just not as glorius as the Tour crashes.

The lead rider got the worst of it, scrapes, bruises, concussion, stitches, broken wrist. I anded up with a light concussion (helmets do work) and stress lines in the x-rays of my thoracic and cervical spine along with damaged trapezius and scalene muscles in my left shoulder and neck b/c of landing/crashing. The other guy used the first rider as a forced cushion and walked away w/ only a scraped leg. me and the lead's helmets protected up, and were in pieces, man, what if we hadn't had them on, I don't want to know.

I'm lucky to be in this shape and can't keep craning my neck or straining, so please give me a week, who knows maybe I'll have some better points by then.

Lesson, don't ride an expensive road bike near equestrian red-neck fucks. Oh, and wear a helmet, always.

Shane"

His neck's really stiff, he (of course) has two black/darker eyes..hee-hee, looks like a raccoon, and is up for a little, trying to eat, but mostly is "waiting for things to settle back in, sort of like when Fred Flinstone gets hit on the head and it takes a whole episode to become himself again..."

He asked me to go ahead, since they're now cleared to share this publicly, so you all can drool over some cool pictures since he isn't going out any time soon to take any. "The link's related to the new stuff they're chatting about."

The Wife.

p.s. I will check in every other day or so while he heals up, and tell him your replies. I don't know how he's going to deal with athletics and school right now, but we'll see what the doctor says.

Good luck on the recovery. I've had a couple bottles thrown at us in a group over the years (riding in the footills). For some reason the hillbillies don't like guys with shaved legs wearing spandex riding on their roads.

Hey guys. I wasn't wearing Mike's team outfit. ;) and yeah, little banged up and two shaded eyes to show for it. Neck's really sore and stiff, and I am trying to go with just advil for now, we'll see how I do. Slept fitfully last night, had to keep being woken up so I could be monitored with the concussion. Biggest thing is the searing pain in my neck and the popping vertebrae that is scary, but it's just things getting back into line.

Gotta try to goto lecture and sit comfortably, if I can't I'll bail. Sorry, no pics. Taco'd front wheel, scraped pedal, torn bartape, and a busted derailleur hanger are all the bike got.

ouch... that sucks man... ive been lucky to not have been hit so far... as far as i know iv only had one bottle thrown at me ever... and it came within inches of my friend, but smashed on the curb and missed us...

ya, it takes a lot for a bike to get much damage... iv had some fairly bad crashes in my lifetime, and my bikes all just have a few scratches... not even any dents...

so hope you feel better... i hate tryin to sleep when in pain, so good luck on that

Concussion's fading. Neck not as sore, having tingling in my left side and light "tremors", like my leg starts twitching. Doc says things are trying to heal on the body and the head. Taking the day off, lecture sucked, couldn't concentrate and felt dizzy, sleep, nauseous. Coach kicked me out once I showed up, told me "What are you doing here? Go home and tell your wife to take care of you or something!"

Glad you're getting to be ok man... I got hit with a bottle on a training ride a couple weeks ago, but I was the last guy in line and didn't go down. The pisser is that it was some a** in a 4runner!!! Couldn't believe it!

What in the world is up with you guys in NorCal? I didn't get bottles thrown at me when I lived in Arkansas and heaven knows that's not a place known for restraint and refinement.

Honestly half the roadies out here ask for it and ruin for the rest of us. I've never ridden with Scott but I know he's not the type to go around asking for trouble and bottles thrown his way.

Well, it's been a little over a week now, and honestly I am still fuzzy and inevitably a bit grumpy and frazzled still. I am back in athletics, but only allowed limited workout times. Also took my midterm, and honestly I think I did easily a B+. so maybe if I did better I can say it knocked some sense into me. As for my neck and shoulder they're still whacked, and cramping up, I am still only using a light muscle relaxant, only when things completely lock/cramp up b/c it's a pretty heavy thing and I can't stand it and nothing else whenever possible. Lower small of back and left leg are still twitchy and spasms, but not due to the concussion. They did a nerve test and tracked it to the issue with my back, possibly some swelling still in the sciatic/lumbar so as said above, light workouts. I still can't believe I only ended up with this and bumps and bruises, no stitches, etc and that one totally escaped unharmed with just sore ribs from my landing on him and then into the ditch.

Not much else, baby shower's this weekend along with the 1" body lift install, I plan on finding a bit of advise from Keith useful and gonna find a lawn chair and supervise both events.

Everyone, thanks for the support and replies, and sadly, the bike's DOA with a cracked steerer tube, lower headtube crack at the downtube, and a crumpled Campy wheelset that tore the spokes through the flanges. If I could catch the jerk I'd be in trouble legally, this has easily cost the three of us over $10,000 in damaged bikes, medical bills not even included.
