So the morning started out after I met up with scott (scooter25) and we headed to Rowher Flat's in san clarita Ca.

It was not a very eventful day. Like I told Scott I could have found bigger rocks at the mall :loser:
But regardless I got to see an ol' buddy and I got to get out for a lovely day in the sun. Other than the 50+ MPH winds :spit:, it was a nice day

Pics.

Going up

The first and only obstacle

We then went down on the other side. Me and scott said EFF it let's go back up on the other trail and make our way back down to where we started.
Of course me being an adventure seeker I take an offshoot that looked fun..
It was too loose at the very top, And scott was already up there.. You get the picture.

Then once to the top we found the rock garden that looked like it had a nice little line for our size trucks

Uhh scott, Those rocks are too big :chair:

After that we had the seat pucker of going down. Here's my seat view

And the look over the lake

What lake is this anyway..?

Like I said, Not very eventful. But it was still a pretty fun day.

Kevin, Like I told Scott. Im glad you didnt have the opportunity to come down because you would have been pissed when you wheeled a fire road for a 2 hour drive.. Woulda been nice to see though

That's Bouquet Reservoir.

That part of the trail at the end as you descend towards the reservoir is the most fun/challenging part. Going up it isn't so bad.

Yeah that rock pile at the top can be interesting. I've been up there when the rocks were stacked/arranged in such a way my truck could make it over. Usually it's just a bunch of poser shots.

crap dirtopia listed it as most difficult. oh well Scott, any day you can make it out to play is a good day on the trail. Steves just a rock snob now :tongueout: lol

the pictures make it look real pretty though. was there many trucks out there? i bet a few people are taking advantage of another, close to the city, spot to wheel

It was deffinitly a bit disappointing as far as terrain goes. There were quite a few people out there, especially for only the second weekend being reopened. It's a great run for newer drivers with stock rigs (I'd say A/T or M/T tires would be the only requirement) to get comforable on the trail. There are some very steep hills, but the whole trail can be run w/open diffs (mine apparently didn't want to lock). Unfortunatly the whole trail was recently bulldozed smooth, but I figure after some use and a good heavy rain to rut it out a bit it may get a little more interesting.

oh that makes sence if they bull dozed it. kinda cool really that there maintaining it or a least a little spruce up.

it looks a lot like our local trails here... most of the hardest parts are the steepness of the grades... although there are usually a few decent off-shoots (like Garcia Ridge and Pine Mountain ;))
