id like to make some panels for storage in my truck similar to the smittybuilt G.E.A.R. or those expensive aluminum storage things.
i did find these so far and the price isnt bad just the shape isnt what i need.

smitty built sells a jeep thing thats also not a bad deal but not exactly what i want to do.

its a long shot but i thought maybe that fabric with the webbing already sew on might be available somewhere. google is letting me down right now. anyone seen anything?

I would go to cheaper than dirt and find a panel on there, tbh they make molle but not just panels usually. Usually its a pack, pouch, vest, etc.

Those panels from supply captain are sweet! I think I may get some for the runner and van. Price is sweet too!

Troy, do you know how to sew or know someone who does? If so, you can find the molle "tape" and sew it on whatever you want and whatever size you want.

hahah just asked the lady about that. it would be a real pain but i think custom panels would be possible for a reasonable price.

i found these seat back things today. but im really not looking for a seat back set up

this ones a good deal considering all the pouches you end up with too

Yeah, after pricing out molle compatible pouches last night, I determined that the smittybuilt covers are a good deal.

These guys have some sweet metal racks. Certainly not cheap, makes me wish my door swung horizontally though. Where are you planning on installing the panel?

yeah those look good but for the money they should haha.

im thinking of bolting some sort of molle into the plastic interior. im just having a hard time finding the material to do it. ive been reading about the sewing it up by hand and it looks to be hard<-->impossible depending on your sewing machine

i dont have a pic right now. ill try to get one next week when i clean out the back of the 4runner.

ive never seen just a big patch of that stuff. best bet would be a backpack or something.

this all maybe just me thinking about things to d too much but i think ive found a getto solution that will work just fine....

anything i do will end up drilling holes into the plastic interior so im thinking about drilling lots of holes and then threading 550 cord through them to create the same pattern as the webbing. not much cool factor to that but i can have my custom modular storage solution at a budget i can live with.

its kind of hard to visualize but that would be stronger then i need and also not sag like a panel of material i was thinking about doing. it would also look uniform so get that Frankenstein stitches image out of your head lol. its on the long list of things id like versus the short list of things that improve the trucks capability's so ill post back here if i can get around to doing this.

i made a amazing picture to ilistrate the weave and how it would work.

heres the best place to buy pouches that i have found....there still pretty pricey for a large number of them http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemListing.aspx?pagesize=150&catid=724&pagenumber=1

phase two of this plan has begun. i ordered two of these
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE304-1.html
and one of these along with some brown 550 cord to match my interrior better and also its a common color in my area unlike O.D.green
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE018-1.html

these "deployment pouches" are good for the money. $10 only gets you an iphone pouch or $14 gets you a deployment pouch with lots of pockets and storage. ill use them as sorta a internal saddlebag type setup. the quick release first aid kit was a no brainer even though its a shade pricey. ill post updates when the plan goes into effect. i cant image this will be a solution for most people but i have no issue hackin up my truck lol

Lol your starting to sound all special ops ish.

I recently fell in love with the molle stuff when I saw it at the local ace hardware, but it's wayyy expensive..

So you say you ordered those things.. Are you just ordering up all your stuff and having it shipped to kimis house er what?

yeah it is expensive but Cheaper Than Dirt has some real jems like the deployment pouch. i already own a couple things from the military too.

poor Kimis family gets to be my warehouse while im gone. im gonna give her father 300 feet or so of the 550 cord as a thank you.

just an update lol. i never got around to drilling the holes and ended up hanging the two deployment bags from the bars on the front seat headrests. turns out the two small bags are just enough extra storage room and there placement keeps them high enough not to bother back seat people and also easy to access. i finally decided that the molle around the interior would hardly ever get its configuration changed so it was kinda a waste and would take me the better part of a day to implement anyhow
