Not sure if this is old news, but holy shizzle I want one – remote controlled and 0-50mph in 3.5 sec!?!?

And it looks damn near indestructible:

The guys that built the original one used to be on Pirate. They had a mini build on there and I think some youTube videos. I think that when they went big they pulled the posts. Pretty cool.

It was originally meant to be some kinds super duper RC tank thing for the Military iirc.

Wow...very cool. Suposedly, BAE Systems is working on a RC tank too, so maybe the BAE tank is a result of this project.

I just saw an as on the Discovery Channel last night - Howe and Howe have their own show starting Jan 5th, looks like a "fabrication" type show similar to OCC

So far ive seen motor city motors, which is meh ok. Kinda like monster garage but not as entertaining.

I cant wait to see how and howe and then they got another fabrication show on one of the channels coming too-I forget the name atm.

the History Channel also has Madhouse (http://www.history.com/content/madhouse) coming out soon - funny thing is, my roomie raced with these guys down in NC (reminds me of the local asphalt circle track scene :hillbill:)

^ I liked the show, didnt like the drama bs and the fact the entire show was all about that one vehicle and very little about what else they make.

I watched the show and it seems pretty decent. I'm not sure what they'll do for future episodes let alone multiple seasons. Maybe the pressure of being on tv and taking on more work will turn them into the Tuttle's, drama will increase, the wives will start getting into the mix and they'll cave in.

I think they used the term/name engineer too much and they kept calling that one guy an ARC welder. Think that it would loud as hell for whomever was in the Badger when it gets shot at/blown up.

I was thinking the same thing and was wondering if any of them actually have an engineering degree.

The ballistics test wasn't too impressive. Pistol bullets will barely dent mild steel and rifle is the same against hardened steel. I wanted to see what the .50 BMG would do if it hit one of the surfaces head on instead of at an angle.

The unit I requested installed in my Rip-saw is a 20mm Vulcan cannon with six rotating barrels capable of firing depleated uranium projectiles. Oh my....I think I'm getting aroused.

Shots to angled steel will bounce right off. It would have been nice to see the 50 hit the side.

If I were an agency I'd ask the Howe guys what the thing is for other than breaking down a door. You would have to outfit it with cameras, claw, tear gas/ whatever for it to be much use.

Depleated uranium

I agree about their over use of the term engineer, it's almost like they use it to describe any problem that requires a bit of thought.

I think that's kinda the point in the shape of the front, although the 50 went through the angled anyway. Nothing is indestructible, full weight tanks can be penetrated with the right weapon so I think it's more a compromise based on intended use - right tool for the right job and all that. An implement mount on the front with a hydraulic quick disconnect (since it already runs on hydraulics)would be neat and easy enough to add on.

There is one more test I would have liked to see. I bet it wouldn't have held up to Sniper Jesus :D

They said the 50 went through but I don't think it did. They showed a replay and it looked as if it was reflected. That is what sheared the bolt head off of the panel. I think it was the bolt that was in the kevlar not fragments.

Another thing that bugged me was when they asked the police cheif if he would put one of his men in there. He kind of hesitated and his response seemed aimed to please the brothers because it was being filmed. He hesitantly (sp?) said, yeah without a doubt.

One part that made me chuckle was when the 2nd (not sure you need 2 in a small shop) foreman got pissed, stormed off and left on his scooter.

The front might be angled, but the door isn't.

Yeah, when they did the slow motion of the .50, the shrapnel from the bullet popped off the bolt head (or nut).

Shrapnel sure but that was deflected. I don't think the round went through the exterior. The only hole I saw was the one that the bolt went through. Kind of cool nonetheless.

Oh I completely agree.
