Anybody see this yet?

I just got back from the theater, and wow...what an awesome movie! The special effects are amazing. Probably one of the best sci-fi movies I've seen, and I'd probably rank it in my top 10. Excellent movie.

With our budget we've decided everything can wait til it's out on dvd, then I'll use the macbook and a projector to view it on the living room wall with the stereo sound backup. I have seen all the previews and I do want to see how they blended the live to anime.

Picked up "Up" and "Half-Blood Prince" today instead and getting "G.I.Joe" asap.

Yeah, I was kinda skeptical about the anime too, but it turned out awesome. Major props to the company that did it. Everything from the characters to landscape was pretty mind blowing to me.

From what my buddy was saying, the movie has been in the making for the past 4 years, and the story was being written back in '95. Supposedly, the creation of the movie was put on hold due to the CGI technology not being up to par yetI. I dunno how much of that is true, but that's what I was told. Kinda believable though....

awesome movie... i wish i had an imax 3d theatre closer than 2 hours away though :( ... and yes, James Cameron wrote the story back in the mid 90's and has been actually working on it more for the last 10 years than 4... one of the most expensive movies in history :-P

I'm one of the few naysayers. :D It was alright, but it wasn't all that amazing, same story thats been told a thousand times in movies like Pocahontas, The Last Samurai, Dances with Wolves, etc. Also I wasn't overly impressed with the 3D, the screen seemed too dim cuz of the glasses and it wasn't all that exciting.

I just got back from seeing it, little late here so I will post my view tomorrow, however I will have to side a little with Intrepid on this one.

i havent seen it yet, and i might not ever see it.

i seriously dislike 3d movies. all i want to do is go and watch the movies, i dont want to have to wear ANOTHER pair of glasses while i do so. plus, the glasses get in the way of mackin with the girlie!

not to mention, ive already seen Pocahontas (when i was little, didnt like it then, doubt i will now). the price tag alone turns me off. i much rather see a movie that cost 500 dollars to make than several hundreds of millions.

im sure its a fine film, but for me, its better left unseen. just my 2 cents.

To me the movies is a futuristic mix of Ferngully with a little Matrix thrown in there.

There are a lot of controversial topics that appear in the film that make it interesting but not a def cool conversation starter imho.

I saw it in 3D, the rents and I were suppose to see it this weekend in IMAX but we are heading down to VA so c'est la vie.

I haven't seen it because I'm prejudiced against blue people.

I knew your were responsible for the mass genocide of smurfs. Perfect shots between the eyes could only be the work of mr fuster!

After seeing watchmen, I'm always concerned about seeing copious amounts of partially flacid blue penis, something I could go the rest of my life without seeing again.

No blue penii to be seen in this movie....

Am I the only one who was a little aroused by Neytiri?

...If so, forget I said anything. :flipoff:

I saw it in 2d and thought it was good - luckily I was warned ahead of time not to drink coffee before watching the movie

I watched "hurt locker" last night and it was really good! If the kids weren't here right now, I'd be watching it again this morning. :shake: Damn kids!
