Seems like a pretty cool tool to keep in your off-road rig. Now, if you could figure out how to wire up a 'dummy' battery to your cig lighter adapter or just some clamps on the battery, you'd be set!

I definitely like the torque rating on that 18v better, but it weighs twice as much. Plus it isn't the same voltage as your truck battery.

That snap-on looks pretty sweet. 500 ft-lb is sufficient I suppose... =)

The chargers you can get will charge quite well off 12V, at least the snap-on does. I dont think you could wire that gun off your truck that easy tho.

And yea the snap-on's awesome, I think the combo of 3 batteries, flashlight that takes the same batts, 120v charger, and 12v charger ran me like 650 bucks. But when you can pay the snap-on man like 20-50 bucks a shot its not so bad. It was worth every single penny and the gun is warrantied for life (sadly batteries arent) and the flashlights impressive.

Expensive but easily as powerfull as most impact guns in a shop and super portable. Downside is the size is rather hard to handle sometimes and squeeze into places vs just a compressor driven impact.

Its one of the few tools from snap on im willing to buy.

1000 in-lbs isn't much, only 83 ft-lbs. It might work for some skid plate bolts and the like, but you probably couldn't get your wheel lugs off with it...
