I visited with friends and family in Pacifica today and it's looking like the apartments at Esplanade are going to pretty much be a loss after tonight's storm as last night hammered the crap out of most of the state. For my area just a 1/4 mile form a major Hetch-Hetchy release creek, we're on flood alert since 5pm yesterday. They're predicting surf at least as high as today and rain up to 6" in some areas. I don't have the video I wanted but it is a set of 27 footers hitting the base of the Pacifica Pier span, try looking up the news coverage for the area to see what I mean. The thunder and lightening has been amazing! S/B 101 on the Peninsula's been closed down for a bit and is just finally reopening.

**Capitola Esplanade is different than Pacifica..

Here's the only youtube coverage I could find for this week..including the requisite Toyota content. ;)

20-30 ft swells out at Mavericks and they still didn't give the green light.

There's reason enough with the temps and winds like they are. I've no intention of watching a suicide mission, I tried paddling out there on a low day, screw this stuff, double to triple overhead, forget that, it's at 5-6 times now..I've seen what that place and Pipe can do to a person.

I think they're waiting on a 3 week window right now. I always know b/c a friend lives just North of the airstrip and calls when there's a load of copters around. :D FWIW Flea, Ty, and Brock were seen in the area, can you picture having the budget to just fly out here on 8 hours notice? :D

Yep, it was crazy walking out of John Wayne Airport into a torrential downpour :screwy:

That was probably more rain in 2 days than I saw in 2 years out there - wish I would have had time to cruise on up to Idyllwild for the snow . . . .

Meh, :D we just got into town w/ family, guess what, snow was at 1000'. I'm seeing all the weather patterns this week. :hillbill: I got to 4 wheel highway 4 for the first time in years through the worst section.. too bad it'll likely melt off by 6am b/c it's still pouring, LOL.

You gonna be able to swing North or have to fly right out once the meeting's done? Buy you a Bastard at Speisekammer or Zeitgeist? Pm me how things go either way, I want to hear it went well, but will offer a beer either way, you can buy me a fizzy rootbeer. :D

Flew in Tues morning and out Wed night - they had just about every minute of the day crammed with meetings . . . still waiting to see the final outcome of everything
