Hey Guys and Gals, I'd appreciate it if you all could say a prayer or keep my family in your thoughts this next week and especially tomorrow.

On Dec. 28th we found out that my mom has breast cancer and tomorrow she will be having a mastectomy and possibly her lymphnodes on that side removed as well. She will also have to have chemo and possibly radiation (all depends on what they find tomorrow in the lymphnodes and chest wall).

So far all things aren't doom and gloom as supposedly all the tests on the cancer are saying that it is a very treatable type of cancer and so far all scans are saying that it hasn't traveled to her lungs/bones/other breast/etc..., but I would really appreciate any prayers/special thoughts/etc.. for the fam.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Prayers sent and will continue to be sent.

Alexus and I wish your family the very best through this difficult time. I've never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, but based on meeting you, your father, and your kids, she must be a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother. i hope the surgery goes well, and if you need anything else chris, dont hesitate to ask!

Thanks Sean, I/we appreciate it. She is the nicest person ever and definately just got dealt a bad hand this past month, but we'll get through it, she's a strong lady (has to be to have put up with my dad, me, and my brother this long  )

I may have to take you up on your offer, I might need you to go pick up some tires and hold them for me. :flipoff:

Prayers, asking for healing, and for comfort, and for wisdom of the doctors, and guiding their hands in surgery, continuing early this morning (going on 1am here in the south) Keeping you and your entire family in my prayers buddy. Especially your mom. Having lost my mom earlier this year I can truly feel how strong a bond with your mother is. Keep your chin up, and even though there is a LOT of miles between us brother, if you need anything, ask away.
In Psalms, it says, "Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled."(Psalms 6:2) and "He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions."(Psalms 107:20) Keep these words in your mind, and remember that He has all the power!

Thanks everyone! It's going to be a loooong day today. I think she has some kind of scan at one hospital first thing this morning and then pretty much heading straight over to another hospital to check in for the surgery. I'll update later on....

I hope this will bring you all some levity to this situation, go ask this..

Hey, does this mean your Mother's cool b/c she now gets to have a tattoo and a great story behind it?
*They give you a black, non-ferrous ink tattoo on your skin at the focal point they issue the radiation from.

Ask me why I know this in case you've forgotten.

Still at the hospital but was just able to see her. She's doing pretty good. Surgeon said everything went well and initial tests on the lymphnodes are benign so that's great! More indepth tests are being run on the lymphnode biopsy so there's still a chance on thursday of having to go in and have them removed, but if the tests come back benign on thursday then she'll have reconstructive surgery on friday :wrenchin: .

Thanks for everyone's prayers so far, and I'd appreciate it if you continued them.

Thanks fuster!

I just got back home an hour or so ago. She was released around noon today and is now resting in the hotel down in SB. She's doing really well; tired, uncomfortable, and sore, but doing really well considering.

Tomorrow they should get the pathology reports back on the lymph nodes and will know whether she will have surgery to get her lymphnodes removed or to have surgery to get the process started on her bolt-ons :wrenchin: . Either way, she'll be in some type of surgery on Friday, so I'll probably be heading down there again Friday morning. Thanks again for all the prayers/thoughts/wellwishes!
