Hey....has anyone replaced their OEM POS center console with a Tuffy center colsole. I need more options than the given shallow storage option from the factory. I didn't see a direct replacement on their website.

Do thy offer one for the 4Runners? Or just nothing Toyota listed at all?

Does your center console have the rear heat controls on the back of it? If so, there's not much you can do because theres a small heater core and blower inside the center console and that's why we have the shallow POS.

I know he has a Taco, but a 4Runner one could be retrofitted in...

I guess that is radically different then the 3rd gen 4Runners.
my hear unit is under the passenger seat and then the vent shoots up to just under the controls on the rear, sure that could be a way to maneuver around that.

The Tuffy consoles I've seen used are the CJ/YJ ones which are either 6.5" or 8" wide depending on which model you get

I decided to skip using an ammo box for the center console. (http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=8531.msg81633) The 40mm box I got was just too damn huge, so I think it'll get bolted down in the back for storage instead

First off I'd like to say that Mikey is super gay and obviously works like a dog with all his free time he has to get on the Ultimate site. haha. This Tuffy is for my ol' ladys 4Runner. I'd be stoked if I had my Taco center console in the Runner.

There are no options for a 2nd gen 4Runner from Tuffy but I also saw the CJ/TJ model would fit perfect. Now for that rear heater which I never use. Can I cap off the electric and remove the heater core and blower. I dont want to use the ammo can as it's not "officially" a trail rig yet and has to remain somewhat user friendly for the family.

Oh....and Mikey.....I don't indulge in such green pleasures anymore.

Yeah, I'm sure you can just cap off or loop the inlet and outlet hoses together on that rear heater core and then remove it all.
