It just seems to me that this toyota recall that is headline news now for a few days is rather fishy. Our government owns a controlling share in GM and Chrysler so who is their biggest competitor?

I think it's a lot of drama over nothing, but maybe that's just me. The gas pedal getting stuck is a rare event, but it got so much bad press that Toyota has to take drastic action.
I do believe that Toyota quality has been going downhill for the past few years though... it's no longer an obvious choice as the most reliable. :ban:

true - but I think anytime someone's at the top of their game and they stumble mob mentality takes over and everyone has to take a swing

My thought's exactly about the whole thing. I especially hate how some of the local Nissan and Chrystler dealers are using the recalls to bring in customers through radio commercials. Don't mention Toyota in your effing commercials. Once those companies are on top of Toyota, then okay, fair game. But right now, no. :argue: :chair:

I like this one that has been floating around:
"TOYOTA Moving Forward, Even When You Don't Want It To!" :shake:

You can't be on top forever, and sometimes a stumble (or falling flat on your face) can help you reorganize and reprioritize. This little speed bump for Toyota will be good for them in the long run I think.

Agreed, sometimes the top-dog needs to be put down a notch, hopefully it focus them back to what got them there in the first place; quality, reliability and style.

Sometimes it's more fun to let someone else be on top...

Like I have said, there's a lot of hidden strategy going on, all inferences aside.
