This may seem dumb but are all the seat tracks the same for the bucket seats ? can standard toyota T-100 , tacoma and the other bucket seats bolt right up to a 4runner without modifying the floor ? If not what years fit with no mods . My leather seats look like crud and i want to just put some good used cloth seats back in it
not 100% of the time, no. there are some typical swaps out there though. like i swapped 2nd gen 4r seats into my old 3rd gen pickup.
lots of people swap celica seats in too. if i had to venture a guess i'd say you could make the t-100 seats work without too much effort. if you have access to them ahead of time, just measure how far apart the front and rear bolts are from eachother and compare in your 4runner. that will give you a good indication of what you're in for.

Just find some decent seats from an SR5 2nd gen 4runner with the lumbar and adjustments and have them refinished. If yours have the adjustments, lumbar and side support, then you should see how much it will be to have them refinished at an upholsterer. New foam padding, etc... Thats the route, I plan on taking when mine get too bad, the adjustable 4runner seats are one of the more comfortable seats I've sat in.

well i would rather find a good used set . I don't need perfect just not ripped up . it would cost anywhere from 400+ dollars around here to get the seats redone . i have been able to get bucket seats for less than 100 for the pair and in some cases less than 50 .

I agree with Chris, the sport package seats in the 2nd gens are some of the nicest seats Toyota has ever made. My 3rd gen seats are missing two adjustments I really liked on my 2nd gen--the ratcheting headrest adjustment and the adjustable side bolsters. The cloth material is nicer on the 2nd gens too. I would find a clean set of cloth seats and do the swap. I hated the leather in my Supra so much I did the cloth conversion and never looked back. Might as well put in the seats that came in your truck, especially since they are so good.
Make sure you end up with these, not the standard non-sport package ones.

i guess my main question still lies . can the pick up seats drop right in or will i have to do changes ? I live in the middle of a pimple on a ticks ass lol , about 35 miles away from the ticks ass and about 100 miles away from the tick . there are an abundant number of trucks around here but VERY few 4runners in the salvage yard .

lol. with the right tools and mechanical know how u can put seats in from another vehicle. just don't okie rig it by drilling holes in the floor boards and use washers and bolts. very deadly if you get in a wreck with seats set up that way. (personal experience with old jeep)
