Hey I'm trying to figure out what to do here, and I am not very familiar if anyone has any pre-made parts for this, although I thought I have seen them in the past.
My last trip out this weekend wheeling I noticed my 4wd shifter was moving ALOT in the console. Then, when I got home, my auto shifter wasn't working and went under to find that the adjusting nut was completely LOOSE!!
Using a jack, I realized the xfercase/tranny was moving up and down on the crossmember, and the 4 bolts which go through the crossmember into the xfer case just spun, and never caught.
Ideas? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks
-Ian

OK I found the Front Range Offroad one.

Sort of trying to figure out if the inserts for the xfer case are replaceable, rather than buying a whole new crossmember like the FROR one. It appears that the bolts pulled and stripped the inserts of the xfercase. Anyone know what Im talking about?

I don't know what you're talking about, but can you repair the stripped holes with a HeliCoil (http://www.helicoil.in/)? These can be found at just about any parts store

Are you talking about the 4 bolts that hold the transmission mount to the crossmember, or the 4 bolts that hold the transmission mount to the transmission?

Hey, here is a pic of the bolts, and part I am talking about. I guess I can try and find one of these at a junkyard or someone parting out a rig.
The 4 vertical bolts that attach the xfer case to the crossmember... its held in place with the intermediate part.

Don't know why those are just spinning. If you can jack the trans up enough maybe you could get a sawzall or angle grinder in there to cut the bolts and then replace the mount..
I have heard HORRIBLE things about the vibrations that come with a FROR crossmember.. FWIW..

Thank you about the word of advice about the FROR crossmember. I personally don't wan to spend that much either...Especially since it looks like its not going to do much for me.
Yeah the whole thing is just loose, sitting on the crossmember. I tried tightening those bolts, and they just spin around. Like I said, my 4x4 shifter is really moving around alot off road. :/ -- And the scariest part was that my auto shifter wasn't really attached to the transmission anymore since hte nut got vibrated off.
I haven't tried backing them out yet -- but doesn't look good. There are 4 bolts on the top of the "part" which I will do to just get it off the vehicle....

OK sounds good! I've never done anything with a helicoil before so it should be fun :D

That will certainly be the easiest way to remove it, but I'd probably just get a new mount.
