Has anyone purchased a set of the TREADWRIGHT retread tires ? I am going to need a set of 31x10.50. 15's here probably within this year . The AT's on the website are $75 a piece . that isnt bad when i have been looking anywhere from 500 + for a set of new ones .

i really like mine. they have worn well, are sticky enough on the rocks, and dont chunk. the only reason i might not get another set is they dont make 35". i would really recommend them againt a cheap new tire. i had destiny tires before and the treadwrights are light years better

i was washing my truck today and even thinking about seeing if someone would want to trade my running boards for a set of good used 31's lol . i know i will be ready by july at the latest . what mileage did you get ? i will be doing 700 mile round trips to florida and mississippi and decent trail driving . no MAJOR mud but i do have some pasture trails on a farm

the compound is medium/high millage id say. my tires are abused so there not a good indicator of longevity. they list them as 40k-60k i think that sounds right if you stay on the street and rotate them.
reasearch on jeep forums. toyota guys havnt really taken to them yet. i dont think ive ever read anything bad about them except when they were called HI-tech retreads from along time ago

I'm happy with my set so far. I thought I was having balancing issues, but I really needed a front end alingment, so once I got off my butt got it done, they are great again!

I got a set with the walnut shells for traction, those I'm not impressed with. I have none left on the driving surfaces.

I'd get another set, but not spend the extra money on the walnuts.

Bumping this old topic..Here's why I still hate retreads..fuck Treadwright's.

Flame away but in California and Nevada 70mph is legal highway speed and this one did not hold up.

I wouldn't buy retreads ever, but a single incident does not prove they're unsafe tires. You can find documented blowouts of most any tire, retread or not...

Ive seen a few tires (not retreads btw in this case) that separated. Noticeably before on one friends truck he had a bubble one one of the tires after 6 months, told him to take it back but he didnt and it blew-truck and him were fine tho.

geez.. that was a bad crash.. but as was pointed out multiple times in that 2nd thread, the roll was as much caused by the cruiser as the family was saved by it. There were a lot of other factors in that crash, and i dont think it is any more likely to happen with Treadwrights than it is with any other tire. It was an off-road truck that was lifted, over-size tires, completely loaded, etc.

Friend of mine has them, I will be getting them in the 35" variety.
I can't get the truck over 70 anymore and I am a stickler when it comes to tire pressure (buying an after market system for the truck soon).

It could have happen with any tire, heck at that speed if you get a nail in your tire and it instantly goes flat it will look like that.
