View Full Version : Adjusting All-Pro Blistein Coilovers

So I scored a nice All-Pro front suspension set up for the 4Runner.
It was previously on a extended cab Tacoma that had a 2.7l and a heavy duty bumper on it.
Long story short, I kept it at the lengths that he took it off, and notice that the truck is a little leaned.
The passenger side is def lower then the right.
I will get pics up shortly.
But I was curious if anyone has these same coilovers and knows how to adjust them.
Like how many turns equals this much lift kind of way.
I have the spanner wrenches and know how to use them, just trying to figure out how to get the height.
I check All-Pros site and have done some reading on forums but usually they apply to the newer taco or FJ Crusier which doesn't help me much.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and to Tony, NO THE IFS STAYS!!! :tongueout:

get a set of calipers (the measurement tool) and count how many threads per inch there are. one full turn should bring you up one thread. you can do this with a tape measure too. or even a 1" wide piece of masking tape! calipers make it easier though.
for example, if there are 10 threads per inch, each full turn would yield 1/10" difference.
or, go park on level ground, with your magnetic protractor, get an exact reading of the ground, then move the protractor to a known straight point on the truck (like an unbent cross member) and adjust until they match.

Sean its just a slightest adjustment,
I am going to drive it a little more tomorrow hit a few jumps, a
ccording to all-pro and what I have read,
they need to settle to my ride,
well see
Home depot might have the correct metric bolt, I know they had one SUPER close to the body mount bolt I needed.
Looks good Avy, now you need 35's..

your cv boots might wear faster and you probably dont have much down travel at that hight but you can expect them to settle alot within a week

Word ! If your rear axle was 1-2" backwards, it would be perfect..

Marc, i searched all local places that have grade 8 bolts and no one around here has metric.
Steve, there waiting I just got to find a 16" steel to put them on.
Troy, the brand new cv's so I have some time plus they are super soft spring, the tundra had barely any give these ride really nice.
Really Avy, I found mine at home depot. Said grade 8 right on the little box, ya know the ones that are in little cases and junk?

I can find grade 8 bolts dude but not in metric especially in the size that he lower control arms or that strut mount use which is a M14 size bolt, the highest I have seen anywhere is M12 so...
That stinks :(

I dont know about up there Avy, but have you checked at an Ace Hardware? If you guys even have Ace's.... I got all the bolts to redo my truck there, they even had a few M16's I think. definitely had M14's and M12's.

Brilliant Chris!
I forgot we have Sears Hardware which is pretty much the same thing as ACE.
Wouldn't you know it I went and looked and they have the size (well at least Diameter size) that I need!
Now just to check length and I should be good to go!
Nice, im stumped your lowes or home depot doesnt have it. I mean i was shocked mine did have the body mount bolt. Bolt head was a different size but shaft size was good and length i just cut down.
