1989 Toyota MR2 - SUPERCHARGED!!

it has only 78xxx original miles! It's a blast to drive. Needs a lot of work, but its mostly small stuff here and there. It has a 1.6l engine, lots of fun!

If I remember right, those engines are just as hard, if not harder to work on than the van engines. :) Cool car!

nice find on the first gen MKI! personally I would have gone after a second gen MKII :) but then again they're all a pita to work on! unless u have small hands you're gonna have a ton of fun workin on em.

btw that's some major low miles for an 89! nice find!!

Awesome! I love MR2s. Friend of a friend's up in VA has supercharged one that he autocrosses. Its got a bunch of mods done, and it's a pretty quick car.

I read about a guy that put a Northstar 4.6 V8 into one of those. :yikes:

Really cool car! Wouldn't mind a '93-'95 turbo myself. :D

Hehe. I had a volleyball team mate that bought one of those brand new back in 88ish. He financed it will very little money down. The payments proved to be too much for his volleyball slut lifestyle and he let his insurance payments lapse by three months. The week after they cancelled his policy, he totalled the car in a single vehicle rollover while showing off for a groupie. Between his medical care, her medical care and the balance owed for a six month old pile of automotive Picasso/Dali, he was ruined for a decade. I think he went bankrupt.

Sorry for the nostalgic reflection. Hope you have fun!

It's alot easier to just throw a 3.4L in there and make things a bit more accessable. :D

oh and pry that emblem off the front of it. i dont care what anyone thinks, this car is NOTHING but a toyota, so dont try to do anything to make it a Ferrari or Lambo or Porsche or any of that nonsense!
