View Full Version : Powdercoated my wheels....myself.....

Last weekend I was helping out my buddy around his shop, he powdercoats on the side. I tried my hand at powdercoating. I did my wheels. They came out awesome! The trick to it was I media blasted the wheels then ground some high spots with a die grinder. The color isnt an exact match but its close enough.....

I hope I made Jay and the other fellow powdercoaters proud....

This is what they looked like before. The problem was I had to paint every 2-3 years. Now no more....

Powdercoating definitely beats having to repaint. I'm just curious how different these look than stock. Forgive me here, but in both of these pictures, they look exactly like really clean stock wheels...

Up close it makes a huge difference. These are pics from my camera phone....

What did you do about the center caps? Are the colors close enough that you didn't have to do anything with the center caps?

All shiny/satin silver with the "Wide-V's" satin black and the pockets silver, or just BlackPearl them all TRD stylee into this finish..
