Well, life has been crazy (to say the least) and I decided it's time to get out! I'm taking 2 weeks off this year to travel to Montana and eastern Washington.

I'm leaving from work on May 28th and heading to Bozeman, MT to meet up with a buddy. From there we're heading to Beartooth pass for a day, back to Bozeman for a day or two, then up to Whitefish, MT to spend ~8-9 days roaming around NW Montana including Glacier National Park. After that, I bid farewell to my friend and head to Chelan, WA where I'm meeting up with a big group of co-workers and renting a few houses on the lake for wake boarding and what-not. Then finally returning home on Sunday the 13th of June.

Here's a map of my trip: Click (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Seattle,+WA+98101&daddr=bozeman,+mt+to:Beartooth+Pass,+Powell,+Park, +Wyoming+82435+to:cooke+city,+mt+to:bozeman,+mt+to :whitefish,+mt+to:Chelan,+Washington+98816+to:wood inville,+wa&hl=en&geocode=Fdh21gIdpVi1-Cl1fzlLtGqQVDET0TBdbfXGEQ%3BFQQTuQId_YBh-SkTiLpPTERFUzGqYDv3ZND1Yw%3BFZgsrgIdwZh5-SlP6fRwa-hOUzHb6i-jPraPJg%3BFecVrwId1XRy-SmRoKx4Y1VOUzG4MgbfZKaSjg%3BFQQTuQId_YBh-SkTiLpPTERFUzGqYDv3ZND1Yw%3BFcSx4gIdn1gv-Sm17K8Uq2lmUzE-RjeIa3rKzA%3B%3BFRms2AId_u63-ClVb_gI9wuQVDGsQKF_4TMauw&mra=ls&sll=46.800059,-115.664062&sspn=7.836224,16.743164&ie=UTF8&t=p&z=6)

I know there isn't too many UY'ers from around these parts, but if you are going to be in these ares, feel free to shoot me a PM, email, etc. Aside from the approximate dates of being places, there are no plans other than living out of my camper, taking photos, and some good ol' target practice ;)

Gearing the truck and camper up over the next few weeks and trying to figure out how I can minimize the amount of stuff I carry. And if you've been on trips similar, any insight to what to bring/not to bring would be awesome!

Sounds like a really great time, I'm sure the scenery up there is awesome and must allow for beautiful sights during roadtrips.

Dumb question. Is you're truck/ camper setup with a shower? On my recent spring break roadtrip through CA/AZ and the Mojave desert, I was planning on staying out for the whole week. Ended up coming home 4 days early and only because I needed a shower and felt miserable.
Other then that I think you should be set with the way you are setup.

I have a 12v shower system completely separate from my camper.

It's similar to this: http://www.outdoorgb.com/p/ring_automotive_12_volt_portable_shower/

With the exception that I can plug it directly into a 12 volt cigarette outlet instead of a battery pack. I also have a shower curtain that I hang up or just shower in board shorts. I use a cheap sun-shower to heat up the water (or even run a coil of copper tube through a bonfire) to heat up water.

It's a pretty slick and easy setup that takes up little space.

Looks awesome! I love that part of the country. The area around Butte is really great, and if you get a chance to see Waterton Lakes International Peace Park (Canadian side of Glacier), it's worth the drive. I've never been to the western part of Glacier (road west of Logan Pass is closed every time I go), but from what I've seen, Waterton Lakes has better scenery than the eastern part of Glacier.

Anyways, this thread is going to be awesome. I really miss that part of country. I'm jealous. :D

Waterton Lakes is a BEAUTIFUL place. There is a little town there called Waterton (oddly enough) and a small restaurant called Zum's. Trust me. If you end up in the area, check it out. lol.

lol....I've been to Zum's. Great place, but they didn't know what sweet tea was.

The huckleberry soda they sell in northwestern Montana is pretty good too.

While I'd love to venture into Canada, my cargo is going to prohibit me from doing this. In fact, if I tried, I'm sure you'd read all about me in the national news ;) I can just see the headline now: "Man arrested with small armory attempting to cross into Canada"

In reality, I am taking most of my guns because shooting in western WA sucks donkey balls and I want to take my guns to a place where I can give them some room to breath!

Great place, but they didn't know what sweet tea was.

I know how that goes. The only place to get sweet tea up here is at my house or McDonalds, lol.
