Console display - right side is dimmed

hi everyone,

i'm just wondering if anyone ever had this problem. my '06 4R with 79k miles on it suddenly had the console display dimmed on the right side. is this just a fuse problem? on the daytime, this is not a problem, however at night time, it's impossible to read the other half (dark half).

i had that happen to my '03 4runner, but it was back during the winter one night when it was 12-15 degrees Farenheit outside... the next day it came back on, haven't had any problems with it since. if it continues and never gets better my guess would possibly a bulb burnt out.

that looks like the bulb went out.

I have the same issue, just the left side is darker, but I have the ext. warrenty, and already called, its covered so I got about 30K miles to get it fixed, lol
I dont thing think the bulb is out, but may be going out, and seems to happen only when its cold outside :shake:

you know it happened when it was cold. it wasn't freezing, but it was around 50 degrees. at first i also thought it had something to do with the temperature, but it had never gone back to normal.

dude dont take it to the dealer, this is a quick fix.

i just did this a few months ago.. 06 with 50+k miles.

Remove the lowest bin's flap, unscrew ONE bolt then the main screen part comes out. Unhook the plug and you will see flat head-like backs of the bulbs

get new bulbs from the dealership, unscrew the old, screw in the new, then put it all back. Any idiot can do it. The dealership wanted to charge me over 100 bucks to do it. The bulb was like a dollar and it took me 10 minutes.

Cool, you will figure it out, it's too easy.

In fact, I was surprised how easy it was compared to the 01 4Runner I used to have... that dash was more like a puzzle, this one is seriously childs play to take apart :)

Of course that must be because of bulb...hope it must be repaired.

Happen to me 3 times, I just gave up fixing it.
