I no longer will be a faithfull toyota owner. For those of you following, despite dumping tons of cash into my much beloved T100 I cannot cure the vibration that plagues it.

Originally I had set out to buy a Tundra or at least another T100. I found zilch that was affordable. I know Toys are $$$ period but geez 100k on a 5-7 year old Tundra and they STILL wanted over 10k?? :screwy: Not to mention it seems they didnt do very good rustproofing the frames or anything under the truck at all. Tons of guys over on tundrasolutions were trying to fix the rust, some had the rear tire carrier FALL off, others had holes and perforation, some got thier trucks taken in as unsafe and bought back! And the new tacos are apparently no better it seems.

So I tried to find an F150, 00-03ish maybe, again the things must be made of gold cause 10k for a truck with 100k on it is just plain nuts. Ones I did find cheap were absolute junk or I found used ones with low miles that got snapped up before I could even get there. Same thing with the diesels, a 15 year old truck I dont care how nice a shape its in is not worth 7k even if it has a plow. Forget the super duties, a brand new ones only 10k more in some cases.

So I found a 94 F250 that needs work. Got the heavy duty package and sits super high stock, needs many different little items but hey it was the right price. Most of all Ill be on rust patrol but hey its over 15 years old the rust is acceptable.

So it saddens me to leave you guys, even moreso since many of you tried to offer me help over the past few years for the vibration problem. My take-the frame is bent or maybe the control arm bushings are shot (actually they are) or whatever. The truck isnt worth the cash and aggravation anymore, the rear axle seal ever since I had the axle replaced will not stop leaking (even paid toyota 300 bucks to do it among other places and myself). So I threw in the towel...gonna try and sell it, shame the body and interior is at least 8/10 or better, maybe someone wants a farm truck idk? One day ill have another Toyota, but not soon. I think ill stick around tho, you guys are fun to bs with. At least now if this F250 works out I will have an 8ft bed and the ability to pull a toyota around on a trailer with ease lol.

I haven't read the rules but I don't think you need to leave. I know when I started up here I did own a Toyota. In fact I joined when I was checking out the 2007 pismo trip. I showed up to Pismo in a Chevy and within 3 months I had my 4runner.

sorry to see you leave the toy community. someday hopefully you will find a killer deal on a killer truck. until then, good luck with the ford. hopefully it will bring you better service than your t-100.

Such as the way it goes sean. I really wanted a tundra but like I said close to 20k for a 5 year old truck with 50k on it is a wee bit insane, and they wont even cut you some slack on the price.

Don't feel bad, I considered a 90's F-250 or early Ranger (The 150 chassis) for about a day recently before I realized just wait for the Land Cruiser 100 series to fall a little more in pricing.

CJM, I'm glad you will still be sticking around. I've been looking for another Toyota for the past few months, and it's really hard to find a reasonably priced one without a ton of miles.

IIRC, Slosurfer has an early '90s or so F250.

I'm with Shane on the LC100. They are super nice, and I wouldn't mind one when the price drops a bit more.

I would love a 100 series, but I need something with a bed and a real bed at that. The old toy truck beds are not large enough to accommodate my atv nor plywood sheets, etc.

My plan now is eventually Ill pick myself up another toy and it will be a "toy" period, just an extra to mess around with offroad, maybe wont even register it for on road at all.

yes he does, and iv driven it... its a TANK in every sense of the word :-P

well, hope that Ford takes care of u Marc... those old ford and chevy trucks (before all the extra electronic crap) run forever with some engine maintenance.. glad ull be stickin around though, u add to this community.
