I'm thinking the 7.2 kit will look good with just the 32 inch tires. What's everyones thoughts?
The ss 7.2 kit is 2.5" in the front and 3" in the rear.

I've always liked how BFG AT's look on the 5 spoke stock alloys

Jon,
I'm running 265/75/16s with the 1.2 lift, so ~3" in front and a bit more than that in the rear.
Here's a few pictures, there are more at the following link.

Slomat, thanks for the link. You have some great shots! 32" tires on your looks really good. Perhaps a little extra space in the rear. Why did you choose 32 over the 33's.

Here are 2 albums with his 4runner.
http://picasaweb.google.com/mezamichael/2008PardoeTrail#
http://picasaweb.google.com/mezamichael/UltimateYotaPismoTrip2007#
He's running the SS lift (no LC coils and using the older shocks, not the bilsteins). He has 265-75-16 BFG-ATs. This is his DD but he'd love another car so he could put some 33's on. 33's require some mods though that I think he wants to avoid (wheel spacers and or different wheels). I think the biggest factor is the decreased gas mileage running a bigger and heavier tire. We both got 22 mpg heading to Joshua Tree a couple of years ago.

Hey Mike,
Came across your link with some 4runner photos.

Really cool stuff. So glad i found them! Looks like Ken's photos got taken down by offroad.com
Does Ken have 32" tires? I think he emailed me a while back and said he has the 265/75R16 BFG AT.
Do you think i should just stick with the same - 265/75R16 BFG AT
Thanks. Killer photos!

Fixed it, 265.
If it were me (and it will be before winter) I'd stick with 265-75-16.

Thanks. I went back and forth between the 265/75/16s (32") and a set of 255/85/16s (33"). The 33s would be better offroad, but ultimately I went with the 32s because I wanted to keep my gas mileage around 19-20mpg on the freeway since I take the truck skiing. The extra weight and diameter of the 255s causes a noticeable drop in gas mileage and acceleration unless you re-gear to 4.30 or 4.56 which is quite expensive. My previous truck was a ZJ on 33s and running that large of a tire size on the stock gears was not ideal, I wanted to avoid that with the 4runner.
Ken has a SS 7.1 lift and 265/75/16 BFG ATs on his truck. The 7.1 is slightly lower in the rear which leads to more even looking wheel gaps.

Okie, do you have the trim packers installed in the front? I know Ken took his out and everything is level, even with settling.

No trim packers, but I did have to drop the front coils a bit to level it out.
To the OP, you may have already checked it out, but there's lots of 3rd gen lift pics on the SS website.

I'm a little slow to the plate here, just returned home from vacation. As you know off-road.com dehosted everyone's photos, so I'm left with dead links galore. It looks like Mike and Josh have me covered though.
The 265/75R16s work great, my speedo is actually closer to accurate than stock (measured by GPS) and they don't kill your mileage like 33s. My 4Runner is my only car so that is an important consideration for me. I also like the gearing, at a 70-75 mph cruise these tires keep the engine revs a little lower than the stock and I think that's why I can still get 21-22 mpg with the lift and larger tires.

You can still can that. I'm getting around 18-19 with mine on the highway.
About 2-2 1/2" of lift with 265/75/16

I'm running the 7.1 SS lift (same as the 7.2, just different shocks), a 1" body lift and 32" Nittos. Not the best pic, but you get the idea. I too get 18-19mpg max on the hwy...

did you by any chance take your truck to STS to get tires and an alignment?

YotaFun,
A shop did they install and tires but they took it to STS for the alignment.
They just called and said they had to take it elsewhere.

I figured, a buddy of mine that works at STS sent me a pic of a clean lifted white 4Runner and if he had taken a better bumper shot I would have known right from teh get go that it was yours.

So i was really back and forth between 32" or 33"
i Got the 32"s b/c its my daily driver.
So far i really like the look. Lift and tires were just put on 3 days ago so i think the lift will settle a little bit to help balance the look out.
How much can i expect it to settle?
Thanks!
ps. i cant make the Pismo Jamboree but i hope to be out in CA september 6-20th.

I haven't measured the settling but I'm going to guess 1/4" to 3/8". The tires looked a tad bit small when I first installed the lift and IMHO it just looks right now. Here's how she stands:

So funny, between you and Okie81 and I we have the exact same 4Runners--same color, same flares, same lift, sliders, tires, etc. I was about to say that once you get a hood protector and the fog lights they will be identical, but it looks like you just installed one and are in the market for the other.
I will be upgrading to the Bilstein shocks in the coming months. I think one of my Trekmasters has an internal problem. Every-other time I go offroad something changes and it rides horrible in the front. Then I beat on it and it fixes itself (its current state). Can't imagine what it could be other than a badly boiled and Death Valley-whipped shock.
