So my lease is up in about 2.5 months here in Atlanta, and as some may know, im shooting beauty/swim and alcohol product work, so getting out of this hell hole is a priority. Im done with school, so work is main point of focus, Just wondering what everyones thoughts are as far as where and how much money im looking to drop on a small studio apt. I do have a model in SD that is looking for a roommate now but I cant move until oct. but it is 400 for a house with a pool and jacuzzi and huge kitchen. My other option is NYC which will ultimately be way more expensive but I need to go where the money is.. Atlanta isnt it unless im shooting rap stars and or shooting architecture.. neither of which I give a shit about.
Anyways just thought id put that out there.

West Coast >>>> East Coast
When you say 400 for a house, do you mean $400 per month, or $400k to buy? $400 per month is a damn good price for San Diego. Cost of living is alot down there, although much less than NYC I'm sure.

It definitely ain't cheap living in LA. Expect your living expenses to be a shaft in the rear if you really want to be here. $400 to split a house w/ great amenities... now that's unreal... My last house I split w/ other roomies with nothing was not even close to that price... bah!

I have a few friends who have studio apartments in decent areas in San Diego for around $600 or $700 a month.

I'd go to NY if you're into fashion photography.

Cali is full, dont come here :flipoff:
What city specifically is your friends house in? With that information, we can off some input on how that area is. The Oceanside area is decent, and decently priced, for socal. But it's 30 miles from downtown SD...

craigs list should give you a good idea for pricing. there is always the super good deals out there but you have to know someone to get them. ex your model friend.
the prie for a shoebox studio should be 1200- 1800 for anything conveniently close and get cheaper the further you want to drive
is there money in rap stars and buildings? just wondering cause im sure cali isnt hurting for hot chick photographers. it might be tough to get elbow room
