2 door 2nd gen 4 runner ?

i have seen references to but have not seen one . Is there a 2 door 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner ? or is that more like a bigfoot sighting . you hear about em but never see em

there were 2 door versions of definitely the 2nd gen, and possibly of the 3rd in other countries..

but i've seen a couple 2door 2nd gens out here in cali..

Yup, I saw a 2 door 2nd gen back about a week ago. They were sold in '90, '91, and maybe '92.

The Land Cruiser Prado has been available as a two door in other parts of the world. It's basically a Lexus GX.

Don't think so... they were around here too, back in 90/91 (only years they were available in the US), as new vehicles... Toyota couldn't import any 2dr SUV's beginning in 1992 due to heavy import duites passed by Congress to protect the domestic auto makers.

They were definitely available in the U.S.

I've probably seen 20+, but they are getting more and more rare. Last sighting was probably over a year ago now...

I'm pretty sure Brian @ Wabfab has a 90 2-door that he's putting a 3.4L in.

They're not as plentiful (around here anyway) as they once were due to the crappy 3.SLOW head gaskets and declining value. Once the engine goes, the truck goes to the scrap yard for the most part...

Yep I got a nice 2 door 1990 4Runner that I'm rebuilding a 3.4 to go into and SAS at the same time. I'm stockpiling parts now since it's so hot and school is starting back. It will be a winter project I imagine.
