I am in the process of doing the cv boots on my 97 Taco. I am getting hung up on the cone washers. I can't seem to get them to budge. What am I missing? I have linked the pdf from Steve's website. The car is a southern car.

Cone washers... Ah. A brass drift will really be your friend. If its the first time those are coming off well.. your going to have to hit it with your purse.

Yeah, you just got to hit the sides of the hub body and they'll eventually work loose. Maybe soaking with oil before hand will help.

They have been soaking in PB blaster. I guess I need to find a brass hammer or drift.

Had to go to Harbor freight to pick a brass drift. It took a little bit of worked and then they popped loose. Thank you for the advice.

I used a brass pipe nipple. It worked enough for me to rebuild two sets of hubs, and its still in my tool box somewhere. lol. Eventually, I need to get a real brass drift.
