My uncle somehow manage to activate the Child Safety door lock system on his 2001 4Runner where it disables the power lock and unlock from the inside. It does have an aftermarket alarm and who ever installed it did not wire in the Red/Blue child safety wire, which I'll fix later on. All fuses are good, you can use the key to lock and unlock, but the switch inside does not work. The Red/Blue is showing ground.....Anyone know how to deactivate it?

Not sure about the 2001's, but on my '99, there's a little black tab on the door, right around the latch, that you can push back and fort with your finger. That little tab activates the child safety lock on mine.
Good luck, and hope this helps!

I have the same thing but it only controls that one door. OP, is that the problem you have? When it is clicked to on it cannot be opened from inside but the power locks will unlock the other doors.

Nope....I know about the black tab on the two rear passenger doors. This Child safety lock system is tied into the elctrical part of the door lock system. Once activated it grounds the door lock system rendering the unlock and lock buttons on the two front doors useless.
I even unplug the battery for 15 minutes.....its still activated.

That doesnt sound like normal operation to me... I've never heard of that... i would say check wires for bad spots that could be causing a short in the system...
