Tailgate Issues

Hi all, I've got an issue with my '90 4Runner's tailgate, which is actually a recently installed '95 tailgate. It was working perfectly fine, with no slowness or hitching, until yesterday, when it stuck in the fully down position. When I try to roll it up, it moves about a half-inch up, strains, and stops. It'd be great if there was an easy fix to this, as it was a nightmare to install. The lock is unlocked, nothing appears to be blocking it on the inside, and all the wiring should be right. Ideas?

Are the window run channels on both ends still in decent shape? It sounds like you're gonna have to take off teh access panel and see what's going on - might have something binding or stuck in teh mechanism. Probably won't help, but try shooting a little bit of silicone spray down the rubber run channels so the window can slide up/down easier.
