ok, first off, yes, I know this is an "Off-road" or 4x4 forum, lol

but of these two "cars" which would you get, and why?

2010 Infiniti G37S (possibly Convertable)

lmao,,, and thats the reason the Z is in there, lol BUT, I do have two teenagers, so from time to time the 3 of us might want to go somewhere, the Z has NO back seats, the TQ is almost dead even, HP the same, its a TUFF call for me

I think the Z looks much better, but if I had kids, I'd probably go with the G. :D

That's a hard call, because they both look sleek, and I don't know anything about what kind of power they put out lol. There's a G37 on campus that's all blacked out, and it looks pretty sick... but I think I'd rather just get an STi....

you know, I never thought about calling my Ins. to see if there is a price difference in the two, Im thinking the Z would be a little more, only due to no rear seat, might make it "more" of a sports car but I dont know

I'd probably go with the G37 because it's got more room for things.

Any 2 door is gonna be higher on insurance, but I'm not sure on the backseat thing... my parents drove a Ford Escort ZX2 for a while, and their insurance counted that as a sports car - and it had a backseat.

Why are you researching it if you only have a .01% possibility of actually switching, anyways? :P

Im going to either,, the 99.9% was meant that Ill keep the 4runner, and get another car, in addition to the 4runner, sorry that was confusing, lol

I'd go G37 non-convertible. I like the small touches Infiniti does to the body that gives it a cleaner look.

I vote for the G37. They are simply bad ass cars. I believe both the Z and the G have the same engines (3700cc?), same parent company (Nissan), just the G has more class. I love Infinities.

this is just my thoughts, the G is a little more classy, refined, the Z is more of a sports car, less luxery. Both are quick, well compaired to the 4runner

Ya I think I'd probably go for the G37 bodywise, but like I said, idk about engines and whatnot. :P

100% correct.. both have the same vq37 engine (very closely related to the vq38 in the GT-R). The two cars are also on the same base platform, pretty much the difference is in the looks (body) and comfort level (interior and suspension). The G37 will be much more comfortable to drive daily, and will still handle ANYTHING you could throw at it on a curvy road... if it cant handle it, get a set of coilovers :-P

That bein said, the 370z has its merits as well. It is lighter, meaning it is even easier to throw into the twisties, and (although you commented in another thread that this doesnt matter at all to you) should get better mileage.

If it were me, I would go straight up with the g37-s if i could afford it. Very very sexy car, and not enough of a performance hit from the 370z to turn me off. There are, however, little things on the Z that DO turn me off, like those hideous headlights, and the lower valence opening.

Also, there is a huge difference between driving a Nissan, and driving an Infiniti. Infiniti is a competitor with Lexus, BMW, Audi, and have the luxury and looks to show that.

And, (this is a g35, but you get the idea) if you feel like it, you can do this

The G in hardtop looks pimp and would be my choice, hands down - class and performance in the same package. While I love classic Z's (up to the last 300), the new one makes me think of Jersey Shore or douche frat boys with too much hair gel spending mommy/daddy's money.

thats funny, because to me the G reminds me of duchebag asian tuners that ALWAYS cut me off, even if there is no one else on the road. the Z in my experience is driven by an older, more mature crowd. i rarely see them all tricked out, but i always see at least one G with a giant wing, smoked tail lights, huge wheels with no tires, and a terrible exhaust.

all that being said, i wouldnt buy either of those cars.

Well, being a Z enthusiast (I have 4 Zs including the 8th 300ZX made from 1984) I would say the Z. I like how the 370 has gone a little more back to it's roots of the 240Z and has a lot of history and passion. It is definitely more sporty than the G. The G is really nice, more of a grand tourer rather than a sports car and will give you some sports car feel without jeopardizing the ride quality of a luxury auto that can haul your colleagues and teenage sons.

Sounds like the G would be best for you if you don't want to openly choose your favorite child to go for a ride with you in the new car.

I vote Lexus LFA. I mean Lexus IS F.

Wait... ok. I vote G-37.

Cody, thats funny,,, Im on both forums, the G37 forum and the 370Z, from my experiance, its just the opposite, more Zs are riced out, than Gs, lol

I dont see any Gs out here but see more of the Zs but then again being in Denver, Im geussing the Zs are a summer car for "most" people
