ok i need some help been looking everywhere no one has really helped me by the way my names aaron by the way but my question is ok i got a 86 pickup with a 22r in it i got it from a buddy he ran it out of oil and i just got a 22re and can i just take the intake off the 22re and bolt it right up to the 22r intake anyone have any troubles doing this thanks means a lot!! :clap: :wrenchin:

first of all, im assuming you mean intake manifold, and not air intake tube..
22r is carbureted isnt it? if that is so, i highly doubt u can switch that intake onto a 22re which is EFI.
If what u do mean is the intake tube, id bet you can figure out how to make it work... its just a plastic tube with a filter.. lol

i meant take my intake off my 22r and take the intake off of the 22re and put the block from the 22re and bolt my intake off of my 22r onto it

So, just to be clear, you have a blown 22R in your truck now....
You have a good 22RE, and you want to swap in the block from the RE to the truck, to get a good motor in the truck, and have it remain carb'd, right?

i know the 22r has a different distributor it has the vacume advance is that all?

Here's a bit of reading so you can compare 22R and 22RE to make sure everything will match up - there were some differences from one year to another, so it kinda depends on what year the blown engine is
