Spent way too much pimping out the 3.0l..LOL.
Toyota fought with me over the hg recall claiming since mine was a 95.5 and the last of the 100 made, post issue they didn't have to warranty the engine work I needed done.

I fought them, with a good attorney, and well, I won..so much so that I got a new block out of the deal.

So, seriously, yes there's a 3.0 still in there, blueprinted out using the factory new long-block through Toyota Parts America. It's pulling clean and powerful now, can cruise around 80mph @ 3500rpm, and it way more fun.
