Surf N Turf 2010

Had a blast like always, but also had a nice mellow relaxing time.

Our original plans didn't necessarily work out. Originally, the whole fam was going to come out and camp. WE were going to go early Friday morning so we could just relax at the beach and let the kids play and then even my parents were going to come out and camp. Jack ended up getting sick, so it ended up being just Adelaide and I going out for the day Friday and then I went back Saturday morning solo and stuck around till after the poker run. Couldn't stay longer because April and I had a babysitter and a wine event to go to. How awesome is CA! Offroading in the dunes all day and then dressed up and at a winery event with amazing wine in the same day.

I only got a few pics since I spent most the time playing with my GoPro HD camera trying different shots/angles etc... I still need to go through them all and condense them down to one vid.

Saturday I found a sweet little jump. Some nice people from the valley pulled up and offered to take a pic since they had just seen me launch it. I was ready to be done and didn't want to break on the infamous "okay, just one more", so I took it easy on this one.

Still have tons of video to go through, but here's a quick vid. (I ended sandblasting the lens on the case on my first run, so that's why it kind of looks like it is filmed using a soft filter, oops!

awesome! was seriously thinking about going but school ended up in the way as usual! looks like a good trip for you, probably alot better than the jambo since you dont have to work. too bad about jack being sick though.

that video was fricken amazing!!! makes it look like you are going SOOOO fast! i think i might have to get me one of those cameras... i was just going to take an HD camera and build a custom box for it, but im not sure how it would deal with the vibration.

Sean, the camera is so much fun. Shop around for them though and you can get some decent deals. I got the GoPro HD Motorsports package ($299 on the gopro website), but I got it from amazon for $330 shipped but that also included a 32gig sd card and a tripod mount.

No worries, I ended up having to leave right after the poker run on Saturday anyways and because of the sick kids didn't make it out on Sunday either. :(

Here's a vid of the shotgun start for the Poker Run. This year's start was more mellow than last year. Last year looked like a land grab was going on. :laugh:
