Online console system gaming

This is specifically created with the intent of finding other PS3 online players, but you Xbox kids feel free to post up gamertags and fave games and such as well. :) and for those of you who only own a wii..... go do your stupid hippy wii stuff by yourself. (love for you guys too, I have a wii also. lol)

So I've had my PS3 for awhile now, and really all I play is Call of Duty (various titles) rainbow six Vegas2, and some need for speed. I just downloaded the demo for Battlefield 1943 the other day and it seems pretty cool also.

My quandry comes from the fact that nobody I know is really into PS3 online gaming anymore, most of my local friends either gave up on video games, or are playing 360 these days. As I am a die hard Playstation man, I can't bring myself to even consider buying an XBox, but would instead turn to the internets to find my non-local friends to play games with.... so, that being said, if you have a PS3, and you play online, post up in this thread, tell me what games are good online, which ones you play most often, and your gamertag (whatever its called on PS3) If you don't want that to be public knowledge, then by all means send me a PM. :)

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - sucks online, but I will play
Call Of Duty: World at War - fun online, a little dated with the newer COD titles, but still a blast and my primary online game
Battlefield 1943 - pretty new to me, considering buying the full version the trial was fun for the 30 mins it lets you play.

Wii
Tiger Woods 2010 - this is the only game I think I have that is online capable for the wii. I love this game, the online isnt as fun, but it would be a great boredom reliever.

GRiD on PC is definitely fun. As is DiRT 2.

You need to suck it up and get a 360 if you want the best online experience Chris.. jk.

I dabble every now and then at some Halo: Reach and Battlefield Bad Company 2, but in this past year I've gone from playing a few times a week to maybe once or twice a month. But if you do see me online: oly884 hit me up!

mostly the wife and i play wii. i havent tried the online bit of it. honestly, i have had my days with 12 year old :asshat: screaming into the mic on counterstrike, i dont need that experience again.

if i ever do play online, its left4dead or counterstrike, both on the PC. and usually i just play half life (1,2, episodes, etc) single player anyway.

and as oly has mentioned, my gaming is down from daily to monthly at best, and more like every 3 months!

looking forward to the star wars MMO. i hate the thought of paying a subscription to play but it could be worth it for a few months.

I used to play 360 everyday.. RB6 Vegas2 and Ghost Recon Adv. Warfighter 2, but then I sold my 360.. and now I don't have time between the fam, work, and school.

I only get to play the occasional GRiD, Dirt2.. and sometimes I throw some Half Life into the mix since I was able to download them off Steam (since I'd bought HL2 when it came out, but no longer have the disk).

But.. PS3 & 'online gamer' is like... jumbo shrimp. jk.

All I've got is a Wii, and I hardly ever play it. I have gotten myself into a Donkey Kong Country Returns kick lately. Fun game.

My roommate in college played DDO and WOW all the time. He would play it a couple hours before work, and after work, do another 6 hours or so. Outside of work, he lived at his computer desk. I never saw him cook one time while I stayed there. :hillbill:

u and me both! CS:S was a really fun game, but i dont like all the server patches that are out, just makes the game more like quake. I miss the old strategy of it having rushers and campers, tactical teams.. i was a damn good sniper, one shot kills with a Scout ;) (AWPs are ghey). I haven't played in a year or so, dont even think its installed now.. I need to pick up L4D:2 and play that

As for systems, i only have a Wii, and have never played it online.

The only game I'm playing right now (or rather played for 3 days) was Black Ops. Kudos to my best friend who worked on the game. :)

I played Black Ops with Slo tonight. Pretty decent, I really think I may prefer MW2, but I haven't played Black Ops that much yet, all I know in Black Ops when I am using the M16 (3 round burst) is that I oh so desperately miss my fully automatic M4 with Holograph sight and Digi finish from MW2. lol.

Yeah, that was fun! I got my ass kicked :laugh: That three round burst is rediculousy innacurate. I would rather have single shot.

I need to fix my connectivity issues. I was trying to watch Netflix last night and kept losing it every few minutes or so. I think my modem is kicking my PS3 offline for some reason :shake:

Are you just running it wirelesly, or do you have it wired? Because even on a good wireless system, that will usually be the bottleneck in the gaming online speeds. I run mine wirelessly, and dont have to many problems really, I lagged a little last night on Black Ops, but have no issues with World at War, or Modern Warfare 2. I guess there are a lot more demands on the Black Ops servers.

It's wireless and I never had problems until I moved it from the garage and into the bedroom. It's weird, I have major problems with netflix now and I'll also just get totally kicked offline and signed out of the ps3 network. My router is getting kind of old, so maybe a firmware upgrade or try a new router. My ps3 is the only thing that has trouble with it though, the wii and two netbooks work fine with it. It has something to do with my router and the ps3 working together.

I'm officially addicted to Black Ops now :laugh: The past two nights playing with rockotaco has been really fun! Once you start earning $ and are able to upgrade your weapons, it's so much better. I still hate that stupid 3 round burst on the M16 :shake: There's a reason we never used it when I was in....
