I've been considering asking for that weekend off, if 1.) someone has a spot for me to put my tent and 2.) someone is willing to let me ride the trails with them and 3.) I can get my car out to the campground ok or someone can give me a ride.

I want you Ca. guys to know how REALLY REALLY REALLY hard it is for me not to merge this thread with the "Official" 13th Annual Superstition Mountain Run thread. I think once you guys actually (FINALLY) have this event, I will merge the threads just to keep the board a little neater, but for now, have your fun. ;) Wish I could be out there guys!!

randver

I registered/paid and have the days off, but I'm possibly closing escrow on a house the first week of January, so I might be out for this year. I have to move/paint/lay flooring into the new pad and I have few weekends to get it done in Jan.

Most likely it will be a last minute call.

Due to my working schedule I cant say either way untill it just a couple days away. But either way, this weekend I'm going to weld on those sliders that I bought last year for this event, lol. My wife really wants to go, and my brothers might come out with their baja buggs.

Tankota
01-02-2011, 06:28 PM
Well the tank now has sliders. Still gotta finish the gussets and stuff, but they're on there. No more door sliding.

Well, I got registered, and got my TCase re-installed. But after the install I found the output shaft is bent (about 50 thou runout). It shakes like a dog sh***ing razor blades at 55-65 mph, but is smooth at 40 & below.

So, I think I can borrow a trailer and tow it. But, I'm wondering if the shaft will hold up on the runs...??

No time or money to fix it before Superstition.

Zach, Mikey, your opinions, please... :wrenchin:

I'd say run it. If your going to be on a trailer anyway, you dont have to worry about driving it home. And if you do snap the shaft, you can make it back to camp in tow or on the front axle. I wonder how the shaft got bent in the first place. Did the t-case get dropped or something?

I plan to be there earlier. I borrowed a friends motor home, 26' Maverick. Will tow my truck, Red 89 flatbed. I hope to be there before dark. If anyone's got GPS coords, I'll try to land on that spot (same as previous years?).

See you there!
