Hey guys, Matt here... Usually frequent Yotatech but a new crowd is always welcomed!

Heres my rig... 94 Runner. 5speed swap, 3.0 with badlands front, TG rear with custom swingout. Dints and dings. Involved in 2 accidents (neither my fault). Been to Reiter pit, evans creek and a few back county roads..

Since the 5speed swap Im running 31s with the stock 4.88s... overgeared ftmfw!
Lookn to throw some 33's on her or at least 32s... not quite sure yet... might run 16" rims... not quite sure yet...

Ta pics...

Checking stock suspension stuff for 33's... I think im gonna do some chopping...

welcome to UY Matt! I think you'll find that people here are a lot better company than those on YT (i occasionally visit YT, and they usually remind me why i dont like that forum :-P). Nice lookin truck.

Oh, and i can tell you, 33x12.5 stuff just fine in the rear on 15x8 0 offset rims without cutting anything. In the front you just have to bash the firewall a bit. So I say go for it! if you do any wheeling really, you will probably regret going 32's instead of 33's. If it is your daily driver that sees little off-roading, 32's will probably be better in that they are lighter, and will get slightly better gas mileage.

Hey man, For the most part i frequent only one thread on YT... And I only use it to stay in with close friends i wheel with.

As for the 33x12.5, Really? it seemed like I would rub and eat my fenders with them? Then again, my stock rims are 15x8...

33's are what im looking at. But might do the 265x75x16 duratrac's since they are basically a 32x11.5 if i remember correctly. Currently im getting about 16MPG freeway being overgeared... I'm hoping 32-33's will solve that and help with mileage, I dont do much wheeling during the hunting season.

i think you mean ur stock rims are not 15x8.. the 33x12.5's are really close, but they did not rub when i had stock arms. I have extended arms now though, and my 33's rub on the very rear of the wheel well on full stuff, but my arms are 1" longer than stock. Im looking for a pic i had of full stuff when i first got my 33s, if i find it ill post it here.

Duratrac's are good tires  check my avatar, thats what my 33s are ;)

yeah, my bad, its been a long day haha. Meant NOT 15x8. they are 15x7's... Id love to see some pics man, thanks!

Hopefully I'll make up my mind and get them by the end of the week... I could get a set of 16x7(?) tundra wheels for pretty cheap though... hmmm

hmm, looks like the full stuff pic i have is pre 33s, when i just had 31's. I don't have a pic of full stuff with 33s and the stock arms.. and the only stuff pics i have with my new arms are bad pics..

Welcome. Before you decide on changing rim size, check out the price difference of tires when you go up 1 inch in rim diameter - that's what kept me from getting a set of factory black steel wheels. FWIW, 33x10.5x15 will fit fine on your stock alloys and will have less rubbing than a 12.5" wide tire (unless you need the flotation from a wider tire)

Corax, they dont make a 33x10.5 in Duratrac's! :( thats what sucks... Otherwise I would go 33x10.5. any other suggestions?

Welcome to UY!

:D I did the same thing, flipping mine off, but I went further and pee'd on it in front of everyone.
*At least you started w/ a 4wd..that part wasn't as easy to do.

If you got lucky and have a vacuum operated cruise control, great, if not let me know. I figured out how to cheat the electrics into working on the solenoid style.

Personal experience - the new KM2s are just as quiet as the A/Ts at highway speed and surprised me with their road manners (just finished towing a 2 ton trailer cross country and have been all over the 4 corners region in the last 2 months). That said, the BFG A/T's rock as well and wear like iron . . . just sayin'

Enjoy the day-trip :D

Welcome to UY!

I think I might have some "stuff" pics. 33x12.5x15's on 15x8 rim with 3.75" backspacing

I haven't done any clearancing or anything. It does hit the plastic fender lining a little bit at full stuff and full lock in the front, but not enough to warrant getting out a hammer. Any wider of a stance though and they wouldn't stuff quite as well as they do now. :)

Got some stuff done...
Had some free time at work today for the first time in a long time... Decided to replace my beat to shizzle skid plate with a newer one out of some 3/16" plate we had lying around.

so after measuring the stock skid plate and transferring that information to the plate, busted out the plasma cutter and heres the result
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0415111538.jpg

I took the digital and measured the angles on the stock skid plate (which was so messed, it was bent in different directions) then, instead of putting it into the ironworker to bent it, threw some ear plugs in, clamped it to the table, and beat the piss out of it with a BFH. Got a perfect angle though and it fit great!
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0415111622.jpg

Gonna make it tie into the front of my crossmember where my bumper also bolts in, so I first off, found longer bolts to use and then made some 3x3 squares, punched a 3/4" hole in there for a bit of play if i want it, bent it to the radius of crossmember so it would lay nicely on the skid plate. Tacked that sucker up.
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0415111647.jpg

Took it off and welded it.
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0415111701.jpg

How it stood.
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0415111719.jpg

and the finish product painted road marker yellow...

Sorry they are all cell phone pictures... :redneck:

Decided to go with a 1" body lift so I can raise my drive train an inch. Figured this way, when I go and make my new crossmember/skid plate that holds my tranny up, I won't get high centered nearly as often!

I didn't feel like paying the price for a body lift from somewhere, so I made my own. Few phone calls around, I got my hands on some 2" Diameter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra-high-molecular-weight_polyethylene"]UHMW (http://"[url) Polyurethane [/URL]. 2 feet of it for around 17 bucks after tax. The company is Laird Plastic in Seattle if any of you want to know.

Stuff cuts and drills easily!

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/0419112121.jpg

All I have to do now is get longer bolts and such and I'll be good to go!

Got the hardware today and installed it.

No official before/after picture, so heres the before:
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/162633_494201231408_524401408_6457118_3261110_n.jp g
Heres the after:
*you close your eyes.. and start to think upon the image of the 4runner... you slowly (dont hurt yourself there) imagine the body now one inch higher than anything else*

Even though i had access to all the tools at work... i decided to be lazy and not pull my front bumper and extend the bracket so it would not have an 1.5" gap.

Everything went smoothly, i couldnt be happier!

Total cost:
$17 for 2' of 2" diameter (i had about 11 inches extra that I sold to someone for $5)
$20 for hardware (grade 5 bolts n such)
-$5 for the 11 inches I sold
_____________________________
$32 for a 1 inch body lift.

When i get free time... then comes the drive train lift and new mount/skid...

If theres a build up area... can a mod move this thread there?
