Who has done it? Ive seen Scuub's post about him tubbing his taco for 35s (thats where I got the idea to do mine), but anyone done a 2nd Gen front firewall?

After beating the ever living piss outa my pinch weld, I decided my 33's need more room to stuff and I'm too cheap to lift it/like keeping her low!

Already took a bit of the fender off on the inside too.... Gonna need to cut those. Probably shave 1/4" or so off the front bump stops and trim the rear quarter panel as well, especially since I have this

I think its time I just said screw it...? The lift money is gonna go towards paying the parents off and a locker for the rear.

with just 33s, u should have plenty of room if u've taken a good sledge to the pinch weld area..

Take the blows to the right front inner carefully as we found out the hard way it's easy for that force to transfer right into the fan blower mount and cause a hairline crack in your heater core. *Not to mention the ECU's sitting right there too.

As for the rest, it's pretty straightforward, if you do it for 33's honestly, yeah if they're 10.5's they'll clear w/ minor mods but you can also just do like I did and go with a 1-1/2" body lift which is plenty and doesn't affect things too much.

*Where'd you find the cool little Aisin stickers at? (Rear Window)

They dont. They rub when you stuff the tire like a SoB.

I despise body lifts and IMO i think they all look like trash. The goal here is to keep it low.

Horribly off topic, lol and made from a friend.

This is at full turn, not stuffed at all. http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/vonderaum/IMG_0281Medium.jpg
If the tire goes up, it rubs hardcore. It happened all day saturday in the snow.

Maybe you should get a 35" tire and tub for it, so you don't have to re tub if you decide to move up in tire size?

Here's for 79-83. I used to have a link for 2nd Gen Runners but will have to dig it up again since it's not in my current bookmarks for some reason.

Trails Less traveled did a good write up, like what Cebby posted,

Thanks Ric - that's the one I was thinking of but lost the link. *bookmarked* :)

EDIT: I think the Wabbit had a thread/article somewhere where he did a 1st Gen Runner front and rear. I recall that the rear is tricky due to how the wheelwell joins the rear quarters.

easiest way to fit those 33's you have now, is to get some new rims with 3.75" backspacing and you will be good to go.

My 33x12.5's stuff really well and just massage the inner fender a little bit.

Scuba, i think i will wait, since i was thinking about it, and when my 2nd gen rear starts to sag... ill probably have to put new coils which will probably lift it anyways...

and 3.75"? What is stock? does anyone know?

stock is either 4.5" or 4.75" (I don't remember)

also going to an 8" wide rim will help a lot too.. stock are 7". I have 15x8, 4" backspacing rims and they worked well with stock suspension with the exact same tires you have (33x12.5 DuraTracs)..
