The seller is selling them (all 4) for $300 and they are off a 4th gen 4runner.

I like that style, a nice simple alloy wheel -should look nice on any Toy

I'd say it's a good deal at $200. See if the seller will drop to $200 if you give those mall crawler tires back after putting your tires on them

i would say yay only if they are for a road set of wheels... im pretty sure those are 17's arent they?

I think that style are 16" rims if I'm not mistaken.

They should look pretty good and anything under $300 is a good deal IMHO.

Well, the seller of the rims in the first post is a bit on the flakie side. So I'm still looking around.

Came across these tonight, 16" rims off a Tacoma. Any idea if these would work on a 4runner and anyone have set of these installed on their 4runner?

I think these is the one

Looks like they fit on his 4runner without spacers according to his writeup. They don't look that bad.

Pretty sure I've seen those Tacoma rims on a 1st gen Tacoma.

This is probably not pertinent info, but I'm running '08 Tacoma rims on my '90 4Runner. They fit fine, although the tires are a bit close to the sway bar links.

Mastacox is running the FJ Cruiser rims on his 3rd gen too, although I'm not sure if he's using wheel spacers.

I have those installed on my 1st Gen taco. They are 2nd gen rims.

Pretty much all 16" and 17" Taco and 4Runner aluminum rims are interchangeable. They all use the same bolt pattern and lug nuts.

I vote NAY on those 4Runner rims you posted, I never liked them. I vote for the Tacoma rims I quoted. They should be easier to find too.

You could have always painted the 4Runner rims, which I probably would have done.
But if I had the choice I would go with the Tacoma Rims

Nay to both. Both rims have a 5.25" BS, meaning they will be sucked in on your limited flares. I've had the taco TRD rims on my 4runner before and eventually swapped them out for LC rims.

Don't get me wrong, they look sweet on 3rd gens, they are just set too narrow. The tacos rims will be made into a coffee table.

Wow, this pic really puts that backspacing into perspective. I love those rims too, but that much backspacing doesn't give you much to work with.

I call that size tire "pizza cutters" :D but they are much better than a 265 for mud and snow.
That size is actually the preferred profile for winter tires on a Duramax.

Couldn't you have just run a spacer to bring the wheels back out a little more?

a lot of people dont trust even bolt on spacers if their trucks are used very hard.. i know i dont think id be comfortable with em as hard as i drive my truck

I've had 1.25" spacers on my truck. No problems yet. My fronts are from all-pro with the extended thread lug nuts, the rears are spidertrax

I've run spacers in the past to get factory rims + 255/85's flush with tacoma flares. No issues running them, but did notice a diminished turning radius.

I did consider doing this as well with the TRD taco rims above, but chose to go with fewer variables => LC rims.

Orrr, take your flares off and run the narrow rims :)

Probable a retard question but would the LC rims work with 265/75/16

depends on your definition of practical...

to me, 265/75r16 isnt really practical since you will notice a difference offroad.

if u want to be practical get some 255/85.. skinnier tire means less rotating mass. also still pretty decent off-road

Well, I ended up selling the LC rims I picked up and was able to make my money back on them minus the gas money. One of the deciding factors to this was that I came across antoher set of rims in better condition and which I like more the LC rims. Plus, I like the color.

So without further adeu here are the new rims I picked up tonight and I couldn't be happier :D :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v681/tbox/Tires/101_0138.jpg

Picked them up for $160, they have a few scuffs here and there but nothing like like the LC rims. Thye will be going on this weekend.

Update: 2/9/11 - Rims

Made a small change to my 4runner today. Switched out the split 3 spoke wheels for a set of 16x7 rims off a 05 Toyota Tacoma. I'm very happy with end result. :D

So far I haven't noticed any rubbing. I'll have to see how they do when I get off-road and under flex.

Okay, so after two months of having the rims on I'm starting to see a little bit of wear on the UCA from rims. So it looks like a set of spacers will be in order.

Any recommendations?

mastacox

If you want I can get you a set made that are identical to mine, they're custom 3/4" hub-centric spacers I engineered myself. They're basically exactly like Spidertrax spacers, but only .75" thick.

Let me know.

Keep in mind my spacers do require that you cut down your stock lugs about .25", while the Spidertrax spacers don't. Not a big deal IMO, but maybe other people care...

From what I saw xxonetruthcrew's old rig had limited flares and the spidertrax spacers were just about perfect with them. My .75" spacers are a better fit for SR5 flares or no flares.

I don't see how the UCA and the rim can come into contact. I could understand the tire rubbing it though. Mine rub the uca, only on full droop though.

So I'm assuming this rims have a 5.25" bs (per the post on page 2). What size spacer would I need to get to bring them back out?

Well, I ended up getting a set of spider-trax spacers. The rubbage was just buggin me.

See here
http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=1831.new

Took it out for a drive tonight and the rubbage is gone and the steering actaully feels a more normal. I did find out that the front shock (Bilstein 5100) has had some weepage but according to their sites that's normal. I'm just going to clean it up and keep an eye on it.
